[LLVMdev] Proposal: Move host CPU auto-detection out of the TargetMachine
...stopher <echristo at gmail.com> writes: > I'm not a huge fan of this because then you get to decide on a default > for all the ports, but I can understand if people want to move this > way to reduce uncertainty. FWIW, since it's one of the three targets Jim mentioned, -march=z10 is the obvious default for SystemZ. On the other hand, I think it's good to run the tests on both z10 and z196, since there were significant additions to the architecture in z196. Until now we've been getting that by implicitly using -mcpu=z10 for cross testing on the usual x86_64 buildbot...

[LLVMdev] [RFC/PATCH][0/4] New SystemZ backend
...patches is originally based on that old SystemZ backend, it has been significantly rewritten and many of the missing "modern" features added. At this stage, we've chosen to limit the feature set to the following: - 64-bit z/Architecture only (same as the old backend) - support for z10 (and newer) processor only (old backend supported z9) - Linux operating system support only (same as the old backend) - focus on feature completeness and correctness, not performance (no platform-specific optimizations have been implemented yet) Given this set of limitations, the current status...

Precise flags tracking & using (LLVM is not so good at this) 2. Good scheduling (are recent z10's still in-order?) -- With best regards, Anton Korobeynikov Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics, Saint Petersburg State University

Naming a random effect in lmer

However, if the set of random effects has a dimension of 30, then the lmer call is: fit2<-lmer(LogY ~ WYear + (1 | Site) + (1 | Year) + (1 | Z1+Z2 + Z3 + Z4 + Z5 + Z6 + Z7 + Z8 + Z9 + Z10 + Z11 + Z12 + Z13 + Z14 + Z15 + Z16 + Z17 + Z18 + Z19 + Z20 + Z21 + Z22 + Z23 + Z24 + Z25 + Z26 + Z27 + Z28 + Z29+ Z30), data = testsamp) In this case, I get an error because the name "Z1+Z2 + Z3 + Z4 + Z5 + Z6 + Z7 + Z8 + Z9 + Z10 + Z11 + Z12 + Z13 + Z14 + Z15 + Z16 + Z17 + Z18 + Z19 +...

[LLVMdev] Proposal: Move host CPU auto-detection out of the TargetMachine
All, Currently the X86 backend does CPU auto-detection and subtarget feature detection when the TargetMachine is created if no explicit CPU was specified. It's counterintuitive for low level tools like ‘llc’ to do this, as it means the same .ll file compiled on heterogenous machines generates different results from the same ‘llc’ command line. It is still useful to be able to opt-in to such

regsubsets {leaps}
Hi, I'd like to run regsubsets for model selection by exhaustive search. I have a list with 20 potential explanatory variables, which represent the real and the imaginary parts of 10 "kinds" of complex numbers: x <- list(r1=r1, r2=r2, r3=r3, ..., r10=r10, i1=i1, i2=i2, i3=i3, ..., i10=i10) Is there an easy way to constrain the model search so that "r"s and

[3.7 Release] Let's fix the release notes!
Dear everyone, The in-progress release notes for 3.7 [1,2] make it look like we didn't do very much over the past six months. Obviously that's not the case at all, so let's get them in shape! If you've been thinking "I should probably add this to the release notes at some point", now is the time :-) I have a list below of changes that might be worth mentioning. I

[LLVMdev] MergeFunctions: reduce complexity to O(log(N))
Hi Stepan, Sorry for the delay. It's great that you are working on MergeFunctions as well and I agree, we should definitely try to combine our efforts to improve MergeFunctions. Just to give you some context, the pass (with the similar function merging patch) is already being used in a production setting. From my point of view, it would be better if we focus on improving its capability
