[LLVMdev] Proposal to add Bitcode version field to bitcode file wrapper
...if I was unclear. There are currently no “known incompatibilities” that I am aware of, although I fully admit to not being an expert on the topic. The idea is that we add versioning information to the bitcode so that if an issue were discovered, it could be easily detected and dealt with.

Dumping Xen dom0 kernel output to serial console

I select the same one the first image it will not show any serial output and
when the machine is up I can''t get any serial output or input. Has anyone

LLVM.org/viewvc down?
Is there any eta for when viewvc will be back? I prefer to use viewvc because all of the commit emails have the SVN commit number, but not the corresponding git hashes, so it makes it easier to look it up. Or is there some easy way to map an svn commit number to the corresponding git hash?

LLVM.org/viewvc down?
Hi,
I've noticed since about Thursday that llvm.org/viewvc seems to be only returning 404 error when trying to access it. Is this service going away?

Chinese, Japanese, Korean Tokenizer.
Hi,
I am looking for Chinese Japanese and Korean tokenizer that could can
be use to tokenize terms for CJK languages. I am not very familiar
with these languages however I think that these languages contains one
or more words in one symbol which it make more difficult to tokenize
into searchable terms.
Lucene has CJK Tokenizer ... and I am looking around if there is some

Xapian pubmeet
Hi all,
A few of us have been discussing whether we should have a Xapian social
gathering of some kind. The current idea is meeting up in a pub in
London some time in autumn for drinks and food. However all of this
really depends on who might be able to come! It would be a chance to
meet other Xapian enthusiasts in an informal social setting and talk
about all things search-related (and

...to 0. This would allow us to make use of what is (presumably) an unused field.
As this is a feature that we feel would be beneficial to the community, we wanted to get feedback on the design for our upcoming patches. Any thoughts or opinions on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

LLVM.org/viewvc down?
It's currently disabled until the issues with llvm.org load would be
resolved. Use klaus instead.

[LLVMdev] Using the unused "version" field in the bitcode wrapper (redux)
Hi all,
Doug Yung started a discussion earlier (
http://lists.cs.uiuc.edu/pipermail/llvmdev/2014-September/077227.html)
about using the unused "version" field in the bitcode wrapper, and I think
there was some misunderstanding. I'd like to clarify the motivation.
The reason we want to add the version...

...ght make sense to just apply it on all bitcode files produced by the compiler. In essence, make it required instead of optional as it currently stands. The bitcode wrapper would only add 20 bytes to the size of the file and most LLVM tools should be able to handle them without any changes.

The beautiful math plot
...iful math plot found in the right-hand side of http://www.r-project.org/screenshots/desktop.jpg? I tried the following code but didn't obtain something as beautiful.
r <- seq(-10, 10, len=100)
y <- cos(r^2)*exp(-r/6)
par(pty="s")
plot(r,y,type="l")

About regression and plot

Q2. How can I see the old graphs in the graph window?
Q3. Can R plot animated graph? For example, I want to see the dynamic change of a 2D graph during a time period.
Thanks in advance!

Chinese segmentation
hello, I have finished reading the papers, and i think it is time to design
my project.
First step will be determine the input characters are Chinese. i see the
past post that cjk-tokenizer is just dealing with UTF-8 and unicode, but i
see some other code system such as gbk and big5. i am wondering that should
i just deal with UTF-8 and unicode?

[LLVMdev] Using the unused "version" field in the bitcode wrapper (redux)
...cludes a version field.
If we could get the compiler to use that version field that is already present, it would be a simple solution to our problem. So I guess my question is whether there is any objection to actually using a field which is already allocated for this kind of information?

Software lifecycle for R releases (aka practical limits of support for older versions)
Hello useRs:
Does anyone have thoughts on the lifecycle of older releases of R? I
know that currently the 2.8.x and 2.9.x releases seem to be actively
"supported" on the mailing lists, but what about older releases, say
2.4.x? Curious to hear when people think older versions of R become
obsolete and unsupportable on the lists (or other venues).
Regards,
Brian
