Rsyncing UPdate repo yoyoing
It has been crazy this past week how a rsync on the update repo keeps downloading a number of openoffice.org rpms then deleting them. And the repodata directory seems to be messed up so that I have problems on some systems doing updates with it. My rsync script is: #!/bin/sh rsync -auv rsync://mirrors.kernel.org/centos/5.2/updates/i386/ \ --delete --exclude=debug/

Gamemaker 5.3 under wine on OSX?
I'm very new to wine, so please excuse my noobness. I'm going to be teaching a course on Game Design for non-programmers in the fall. The school is an all-mac operation, but I'd like to use YoYo Game's Gamemaker to teach the course. YoYo has a mac version in beta, but it is unclear if it will reach release in time for my class to begin. I know that the current version of Gamemaker doesn't fully function under Wine. However, the AppDB shows that some people have had luck with ver...

...ients do not all visit the clinic the 4 times but they missed a lot of visits. The test is considered positive if it is positive at the last 2 visits of that patient, or a more lenient definition, it is positive in the last visit, and never before. Otherwise it is Negative = always negative or is a YoYo = unstable = changes from positive to negative. So, if I codify the visits with codes 1,2,4,8 if present at year 1,2,3,4 and similarly the tests positive I get the last2 list codifying the test code corresponding to the visits patterns possible, similarly the last1 list 20 here means NULL nobs &lt...

hfsc scheduler
hi all, long time since i posted on the list. just wondering if anybody has played around with hfsc and if so could he/she share their info on it thanks adrian -- To mess up a Linux box, you need to work at it; to mess up your Windows box, you just need to work on it. _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list / LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl

Improving on Rice coding
...t to the the distribution of prediction errors, wheras Flac uses Rice coding, which assumes a two tailed exponential distribution. Given that Flac is much more advanced in other respects, i wonder if you are interested in using bonk's encoding scheme? The relevant file is utility.h in http://yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au/~pfh/bonk/bonk-0.6.tar.gz. I've put a draft description of the encoder here: http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~pfh/random/encoder.pdf regards, Paul Email: pfh@csse.monash.edu.au one ring, no rulers, thecircle.org.au

...al coding method was interesting. I guess I could try popping it in. The litmus test really for new methods is 1) is it unencumbered by patents; 2) is it fast enough decoding to meet FLAC goals. #2 is easy enough to verify; #1 is always tricky. > The relevant file is utility.h in > http://yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au/~pfh/bonk/bonk-0.6.tar.gz. Dovecot release schedule
Hello list, Just a quick question, what is the release schedule for 1.0 ? It's been a couple (4+) of months now and still no sign of a production ready version. Is there a TODO list of features not yet implemented and/or of current bugs? Thanks, Adrian

TDMoE - best signalling method?
...risk boxes with low latency (i.e. 1ms for TDMoE compared with 20ms for IAX). When using normal E1s and T1s, I've always used ISDN signalling: either EuroISDN or NI2. So naturally I tried that over the TDMoE. I've found that I get a lot of HDLC errors and the D-channel is up and down like a yoyo. I'm wondering if perhaps HDLC signalling is too intolerant of the occasional lost packet and whether one of the other signalling types would be better. I don't understand the other methods, so I would be grateful for any advice from those who have used TDMoE successfully. On a -dev note,...

Choir/ I have a two-disc John Williams CD set that includes, among other things, "Seven Years in Tibet" with "Yo-Yo Ma, <i>Cello</i>" listed. Do you have support for your spelling of "Yoyo Ma", perhaps in another CD insert? In the "Typical example for CLASSICAL [sic] music", you have both PART and TITLE comments in quotes. Why? I also suggest that you expand LABELNO to LABELNUMBER so we don't have LABEL*NO*, but TRACK*NUMBER* and DISC*NUMBER*. Foolish inconsisten...
