newbie needs SIP config examples -- especially soft phones
Hi, I'm experimenting with the dev kit lite and now past the USB unpleasantness it's working great with standard phones and lines. The priority right now is getting soft phones (under Windows XP) working well. So far, I've only been able to get the XTEN Lite phone working and I really don't understand how I set it up. I used "xten" for every option everywhere (display

NUX Skype for Linux
I had cause to install the Skype for Linux package from the NUX repo. I discover that this package is configured to automatically start Skype whenever one logs on to the Gnome desktop. This behaviour I do not wish. However, there seems to be no option in Skype to turn that 'feature' off. Is there any way to disable this in Gnome or elsewhere? I will be removing Skype shortly when the

Want to help Wine?
Howdy Wine users! Looking for an easy way to help Wine? There are plenty of bug reports that could use a retest in current Wine, but developers are busy fixing bugs :-). Here's a list of bugs (536) that have a download available, but haven't been checked on in the last 6 months. If you'd got time and bandwidth to kill, and want to help Wine, please test them. After testing, leave a

rsync usage... and I did RTFM
Hey folks, I've been through the rsync documentation, and to the best of my ability, I dont see how to do exactly what I wish to do. I'd go through the mailing list archives, but there doesnt seem to be a search function. Essentially, I need to rsync securely between some sites, but I want logs written. The problem is, it appears that using rsyncd is the only way to get logs, but if

Problem when using bundle exec rake with Launchd
Dear all, I am developing a web harvesting server which requires regularly website parsing. Since I use Mac 10.8 as my development environment, I try to use Launchd to routinely wake up my parser. My parser was a bash script which has only two lines: 1. cd $HOME/ProjectFolder 2. bundle exec rake dailyTask:dataParse When directly execute the script under Terminal, there is no problem.

Access and group issues on domain member server (PDC is Samba as well)
Hi List, I created a domain member server in my samba domain. I start to realize that there are some issues when colleagues could not access some folders in the their shares. After searching for a solution I found that on that member server I have no "samba" groups available. First of all my setup: Domain controller: CentOS 6.2 x86_64, latest updates installed Samba 3.5.10 (from
