Samba across subnets?
Hi all,
I've recently set up a samba server, but just discovered that people
on the "other" side can't reach it. The system shows up in Network
Neighborhood, but you can't double click on it. It returns a message saying
that the server is either inaccessible, or that I misspelled the name
(How I did that with just one mouse click is beyond me ;)

Samba + AD etc.
Hi all...
Im at the stage where:
Kinit works
Net ads join -U Administrator works (I can see the computer in AD)
Net ads user works
Wbinfo -u / -g / -t works
Getent passwd/group works
What I cannot seem to get working is when someone logs onto the domain, and
then tries to map a drive to the samba server, its like the credentials
arent getting passed onto samba, or rather samba is unable to look

ftp 8x faster than samba
I've seen this problem mentioned many times in the various FAQs and
How-Tos on the Internet, but none of the solutions presented therein
have worked for me.

After trying several things out I finally worked it out ;-)
No I can connect with the useres from my WinDomain to the samba server - that's fine
But: How do I create vald shares for the several groups? How can I set the rights for the different folders for different Windows-users & Windows-groups? Has this be done on windows or on linux?
I just tried to set
