Samba-4.10.4 strange behaviour
Hi Felix,
thanks for the share.
Sadly it doesn't work and I don't know how to start debugging this one.
I tried your config (had to switch from domain member to standalone) but it's the same:
[global]
??????? netbios name = yourName
??????? workgroup = yourWorkgroup
??????? realm = YourRealm
??????? log file = /var/log/samba/log.%m
??????? max log size = 50
??????? security = ads
??????? clustering = yes
??? ??? max protocol = SMB3
? ? ?? ? kernel share modes = no
?? ? ? ? kernel change notify = no
??????? kernel oplocks = no
??????? posix locking = no

Remote linux auth vs samba4: winbind or nslcd + openldap.
I'm lost in documentation.
I setup a samba4 AD, and configured winbind so I can have local
authentification using pam, I can now login to AD users v?a ssh.
I want to achieve the Holy Gria of 1 source of users and password, for
both, linux and windows machines, but I'm lost in documentation.
So far I know:
samba4 cann't use openldap as backend.

Samba-4.10.4 strange behaviour
Hello All,
I'm new to the list and I don't have much of experience with samba.
I have a test setup on CentOS 7.8 with samba-4.10.4 and samba-vfs-glusterfs .
When my client mounts the samba share via vers=1.0 , the user sees the share properly (uid, gid, mode are just like on gluster). When the share is mounted with vers=2.0 or not specified (anything higher) the files are owned by

success in progress with samba4
Hello,
I would like to share my progression with samba4.
I had a try with Samba3 with ldap ... Samba4 is so much easier !!
I was able to install Samba 4 on CentOS6.4 by following the wiki on
wiki.samba.org.
I kept a trace on my blog in French language of what I've done. It may
help somebody one day.
Now, I have a win 7 workstation that has join the domain and a user,

Check, nsswitch.conf idmap.conf resolv.conf again.
First thing i would try.
/etc/idmapd.conf
Set these to settings.
Domain = interal.dnsdomain.tld
Local-Realms = YOURREALM
Reboot
Ive few servers left to update, i'll do that now and report back.
