more cleanup: mis-named AD user
...= problem-user, sgw
Now, you tell my, why are you using valid users here and explain also why your not using groups..
Let me me guess. Because that was the quick solution.. And later on you never changed it..
Use groups... Always, even it its for only 1 users.
So change that : valid users = @YourGroup
Or "@Your Group"
And use a group from the AD not local linux.
* you can combine these without problems.
I have local linux groups and windows groups for allowing ssh access for example.
Everthing is in the windows groups, except the special linux user that has local group rights.

post transfer script for forcing perms
I'm looking to see of it is practical to have an rsync server run a script after
a transfer finishes. I am moving files (python source) from windows (common
point of development) to a few linux machines. big problem being
owner/group/perms are always wrong and python's module install process is
fragile with respect to OGP. Therefore, I want to run a script after
transferring a set

Excel-File is locked for another user...
Hi,
i have a 2node ctdb-samba-cluster on debian squeeze-machines.
Samba: 3.5.6
Ctdb: 1.0.112-12-1
Filesystem: glusterfs
Sometimes i have the problem that some Office-Files are locked for other
MS-Office-Users. If i try to access those locked files using linux(mount
cifs and open it with openoffice) i can open it. I am not 100% sure, but
it seems that i can open those files with office2003 too.

You changed the user his password while, I said, change the Adminisitrator password.
Let him logout and login again or you monitor his event logs remotely and see what happens if you change the Administrator password.
And try this.
!root = BUERO\Administrator BUERO\administrator
Last question that share, any special settings?

Louis

rehuff [source attached]
Hi all,
Yes, it's true. A new version of rehuff, the tool that losslessly compresses
Vorbis files: one that is easy to compile, and that works with
newer-than-two-years-ago streams, too!
On 1.0 streams, you get about 3% size reduction, and the headers get _much_
smaller (which helps for fast-start network streams).
Building it should be easy (you might have to add some -I and -L for

Word/Excel documents cannot be saved after Samba Upgrade
Hi,
after upgrading Samba 3.0.24 to Samba 3.5.4 a strange problem occurs:
Users cannot anymore save files in MS Office (Word/Excel) on Samba
shares. More precisely:
Save as Office 2007 documents or RTF-Files works fine, but *.doc ist
avoided with Error Message "Not enough memory".
Of course there are lots of memory/space and ACL/Permissions should be
ok since other file operations
