must cut the line down too much for shaping to work
Hi, my situation: One internet connection 256 kbps uplink/downlink, pretty stable speed, a Linux router with three NICs (one to ISP, one to DMZ and one with VLANs enabled to our LAN). Each of three VLANs (1, 10, 11) is a region for me; id 1 gets guaranteed 128 kbps, id 10 and 11 both get guaranteed 64 kbps (both uplink and downlink). Simple configuration. After I read relevant parts of lartc

DNAT Question
Hi list, I have a shorewall installed on 2 interfaces which also has multiple static public IP. Let''s say I have 1.2.3.4 and 1.2.3.5. I have assigned nat with: 1.2.3.4 eth0 11.22.33.4 no no But then I have a situation where I need 11.22.33.44 to connect to a host in the net zone and appears also to be 1.2.3.5 not only 1.2.3.4. How to do it? TIA Willy

After I hit ok, it crashes and exits. I cannot use any functionality at all.

Where is lmhosts?
Hello Someone who has working lmhosts please tell me where it is (i.e., the path). I RTFMd man lmhosts and: 1) man hosts tells: SYNOPSIS: /etc/hosts. 2) man lmhosts doesn't tell anything about the path. 3) man lmhosts: "It is very similar to the /etc/hosts file format" - does it mean that the similarity is also in the placement of the file? 4) All config files are in

Looking for a guide to collect all e-mail from the ISP mail server
You need SPF and DKIM for your outgoing email to be accepted. My idea of a secure email server is to use submission port 587. Expose port 25 to the world and aggressively filter all remaining email ports with a firewall. And I mean aggressive. Geographically filter so only countries where youe users reside can send and retrieve email. Block major hosting IP space. How many users will be on the system? If you can handle it, assign all the email passwords. This means you need to contact them out of band. I avoid cpanel or similar internet access to email settings. I use nothing but ssh t...

CentOS 7.3 and e1000e
Hi All - I have a box running the above. Power was lost long enough that UPS did not work. When power came back on the C7 box boots way faster than the switch and resulted in no network. power cycling the C7 box resulted in network. This even happened a second time. The only way to get the box back was to power cycle. the box is remote and no keyboard and mouse connected. Any thoughts on why

Looking for a guide to collect all e-mail from the ISP mail server
Hi all: I am evaluating mail server solutions for a small business. The trouble is, I am only a part-time admin and a newbie to mail servers. Most guides I have seen are rather unrealistic: they encourage you to expose your e-mail server to the Internet, and hope that you have the resources to keep it patched up. I would rather have an internal mail server that collects e-mails from a standard
