RH4 EL and the latest ocfs2 source
...;) builds will not support =< 2.6.12 kernels "out of the box" or am i missing something? 0.99.13 will build with a RHEL4 kernel, but later vers fail with the configure check on generic_drop_inode. the patch to fix it seems simple enough, however it seems that even if this was an rpm, youd have to rebuild your kernel before proceeding. reommended settings for low bitrate voicecom codec ?
..., please correct me if that hawkvoice thing just performs better on that bandwidth. Now for my question: Could you please tell me what options are best for what codec bandwidth ? Im figuring something is wrong since speex sounds worse than hawkvoice on the low bandwidth...I would appreciate if youd post the *recommended* settings for 5, 10, 15 and 20 KBit narrowband AVB speex (used in a voicecom that shouldnt take too many cpu cylces of the game). Please excuse my bad english and thanks in advance for helping Peter -- Many people are unenthusiastic about their work. --- >8 ---- List...

Re: vnc client for libvirt from os x?
.... so, before trying out all the clients, i wanted to see if anyone else tried one. i intend to make a script that displays an easy to click list for my co workers, so something simple would be nice. another way would be setting up a web server listening on localhost (so no outside connections) so youd have to ssh -L (or D) to use it, and just run novnc on that. but that would be more work. all the web panels ive seen are overkill. if all else fails, ill just do as you suggest and run the vnc client remotely. Win32 service question
Hi All, First, I''m new to the list, so I''d like to say hello to all fellow mongrelists :) Second, I''d like to ask you if there''s any way to make a simple mongrel script run multithreaded? No rails, just plain old class MyHandler < Mongrel::HttpHandler . . . h = Mongrel::HttpServer.new("127.0.0.1", "80") stuff. Since win32 lacks fork,

windows permissions
G'day All, After searching the archive I am no closer to achieving what I want. I've seen lots of posts that suggest this can be achieved but the methods used don't work for me. I won't pretend I understand linux or samba permissions because every time I think I've got it, I turn out to be wrong. So here goes. Let's say I have 3 users & 2 groups. each group has

Migrating to rails... best way to redirect old urls?
Hey all - I''m migrating an app from PHP to Rails and was wondering what the best way to redirect the old urls are. I would like to do a 301 as I''m told that makes Google the happiest. We''re using lighty as the server and I believe it has rewrite capabilities, but I can''t get to their site right now. Anyway, I''m wondering if it''s best

Maximum line length of APPEND option in PXELINUX
Hi, I just replaced the pxelinux.0 of some 2.x version by pxelinux.0 vers. 3.0.7. Some of the PXE Clients refused to boot thereafter (just stopped after reading the config file). I noticed that the APPEND line was too long. Is this intentional? What is the maximum length of the APPEND option line? Thanks, Thomas

how best to implement lookup table?
Hi all - I''d like to implement a lookup table in my app that contains some reference data, just some status codes and their descriptions. What''s the most appropriate approach according to the "rails way" of doing things? Would I just implement a has_many relationship? Let''s say these are Order status codes, would the StatusCode have many Orders? This

Might be buying a Mac
I might be buying a Mac tomorrow. I checked out the new 13.3in MacBook at the new Apple Store on 5th ave in NYC. I''m torn between the smaller MacBook and the MacBook Pro. We have a pro at work and I''m not that thrilled with the way it feels. I like the keyboard much better on the 13inch. However, I think doing development on that small of a screen could get frustrating. Any
