Can anyone help me with suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Alternatively, what do you suggest I should do? Shall I abandon nls in
favour of optim?

summing elements in a list of functions
...thing like "sum", to add up all the elements of the
list and obtain another function. I've tried:
> rrr <- function(x) {sum(ttt)}
but it does not work.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

the 'copula' package
...very simple:
fit1 <- fitCopula(x1 = list(u11,u12,u13,u14,u15,u16,u17,u18), tCopula,
optim.control = list(NULL), method = "BFGS")
Anybody also using it, successfully or unsuccessfully? I'd appreciate a
tip or two.

A point in a vector?
.... In this case, v
would be in the sub interval [4,6] that is in the subinterval starting from
element j=7 to the element j+1=8.
Can we do that with an R command?

...indeed, I have
checked and there is no glu.h under /usr/include/GL.
Any suggestion on how I could proceed?
I am using FEDORA CORE 5.
By typing glxinfo it seems that glu 1.3 is installed. But where's glu.h, then?
Many thanks
