what is best for scripting?
I am using R in Windows. I see that I will have to use batch processes with R. I will have to read and write text files, and run some R code; probably some external code too. I have never done scripting. Is there any document that explains simple steps with examples? I also have heard that Python is a good scripting language. Is it worth the effort? (I do not have too much free time, so if I could

send_files failed to open
Help! i like to use rsync 'version 2.5.5 protocol version 26' to sync some Volumes over the Network. The Plan: At some day there will be a FileServer called 'fileserver' (the Master) and a FileServer called 'Yesterday' 'Yesterday' will always have the last night status from the 'fileserver' without any write access. Insert value from same column of another row (lag across observations)
I know I've done this before, but it's been a while and I can't find quite what I need in the help files or archives. I have a text field in a very large data frame. I'd like to add a column that represents the value from an existing field, from the next record (the data are sorted). I'm trying to represent "what happens tomorrow", so the "today" row would

Line color based on data values?
Hi all Does anyone know if it is possible when plotting a line or scatter plot, to selectively color the data points based on the data value? i.e. if plotting say the percentage change in stock price movements, to color +ve points in green and -ve points in red? And extending this to a user-defined range of colors based on the quartile of the data points? Thanks Rory Rory Winston RBS Global

live migration and config
Hello! After some mistakes yesterday we ( me and my colleague ) think that it will be wise for libvirt to check config file existence on remote side and through error if not, before migrating, otherwise migration will fail and VM fs can be damaged, because it is sort of remove of power plug... We missed twice yesterday :-( CouldĀ  you tell me is there already such option or any plans to

Peer unreachable after IP change
Hi list! Another day, another problem... I'm checking with Nagios my Asterisk at home, and since yesterday I noticed that, after my IP changes (Deutsche Telekom drop the DSL-line every 24 hours, so that I have a new IP every day), the peer of an VoIP-provider I use is UNREACHABLE. Yesterday I though it was a problem on the line, but today is the same, so I think it is something other...

Bug in yesterday's CVS..
Hi Timo. I'm doing some testing with yesterday's CVS code and believe I've found a bug. In SquirrelMail, I get 5 messages in INBOX (doesn't matter how). I click "Toggle All" then "Delete". All 5 messages move to Trash. The Trash folder gets a link "expunge". I click that and get the following error: ERROR : Bad or malformed request. Query:STORE

Disk not bootable from yesterday resolved
Just an update and a thanks. The not bootable issue I was having yesterday ended up being for some odd reason the disk type in the domain define xml file had been switched to the disk being "raw" rather than qcow2 format. ?When I changed:<driver name='qemu' type='raw'/> to?<driver name='qemu' type='qcow2'/> It booted without issue. I'm

Regression in nvfx-next since yesterday
Celestia 1.6.0 again shows corrupted rendering on planets, other parts rendered correctly with the latest git pull on the nvfx-next-5 tree. Yesterday's nvfx-next tree worked perfectly. -- http://www.munted.org.uk One very high maintenance cat living here.

RFE: -t flag for ''zfs destroy''
I would like to request an additional flag for the command line zfs tools. Specifically, I''d like to have a -t flag for "zfs destroy", as shown below. Suppose I have a pool "home" with child filesystem "will", and a snapshot "home/will at yesterday". Then I run the following commands: # zfs destroy -t volume home/will at yesterday zfs: not

ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
Greetings, I have accounts on two Centos servers, A and B, each hosted on a remote VPS by a different provider/datacenter. Until yesterday night, I could connect without problems via SSH to both servers from my home Fedora 16 desktop. Yesterday I completed (fingers crossed) the switch to a different ADSL provider. From the moment I turned on the modem on the new ADSL line, I became unable to

Rsync - include only files containing matching string
I have a string, "2012_10_16"; let's call this $YESTERDAY How can I rsync a file tree from a remote machine to the local one, including *only* filenames that contain the matching string? I've read the man page and googled around but can't seem to get the syntax right. I either end up syncing all the files, or none of them. Here's how the code looks now (I will remove
