trouble compiling zaptel-0.9.1 on YellowDog (PowerMac)
I am running asterisk on an old PowerComputing Mac clone running YellowDog 3.0 (Red Hat clone for PowerMacs) I've decided to try adding a generic winmodem card and compile zaptel-0.9.1 for it. First I tried to just unpack zaptel archive and do make clean; make install. Compiled fine, but during insallation I got the "unresolved symbols" error messages...

Hi, i am trying to compile llvm in a 64 Bit PowerPC machine with Yellowdog Linux 6.1 operating system. smbpasswd produces INCORRECT sambaNTPasswd hash on ppc (yellowdog 4.0 on xserve G5)
I'm having trouble setting up samba as a PDC on an apple xserve, using yellowdog linux 4.0. After a lot of thrashing, I believe the problem may be smbpasswd generating the wrong NT hash. Running smbpasswd on a redhat box (intel architecture) produces the follow LDAP entry: dn: uid=testuser2,ou=Users,dc=allstate,dc=network objectClass: top objectClass: inetOrgPerson objectClass...

OpenSSL Update - not a security update???

We are talking here CentOS and RHEL Linux. yum is an abbreviation of: "Yellowdog Update Manager". It was originally created by YellowDog Linux project for their Linux distribution. I don't know is they (YellowDog) actually using this particular feature or not, but RedHat (and hence CentOS) use features of yum they think fitting in their model. Incidentally, sometimes e...

liveice sending horrible static noise?
Hi, I'm trying to get liveice to work on a YellowDog (powerpc) computer, and all I can get it to stream is an awful static noise. Listening carefully, I can barely hear the song in with the noise... Looking through the list archives, I see someone has posted a similar problem, and fixed it by undefining NUMBER_LITTLE_ENDIAN in liveice.h So I di...
