finding yap.exe with Sweave
Dear all: Just to make sure I am on the same page as everyone else. I just got a new computer and had to reinstall MikTex and of course R and Tinn-R. In order to be able to generate PDF's with Sweave I had to install notepad++ to tell Sweave where Latex.exe and yap.exe where located under MikTex path. So,I have two questions: 1- Do I need to have a Miktex editor in order to use Sweave? I am not using the editor because I am generating my PDF's from R using Sweave. 2- Is Sweave able to find the path to Latex.exe and yap.exe by itself? Everything works fin...

MiKTeX/yap/Ghostcript issues with R-generated postscript
Hello, I wonder if anybody has encountered this problem? While MiKTeX/yap/Ghostscript seems to work fine on most TeX files that I have tested (including a great deal of postscript graphics), there is one file where the graphics works ok for all postscript files except one, the only one that is generated by R. I get an error "Some postscript specials could not be...

latex() hangs R console
[Env: R 2.11.1, Win Xp, Miktex 2.7] I've just started using Hmisc::latex and friends, and find that running latex() produces the .tex and .dvi files, but hangs, presumably trying to run yap. An example is below. What could be wrong? My PATH seems OK: > strsplit(Sys.getenv("path"),';') $path [1] "c:\\program files\\imagemagick-6.4.4-q16" "c:\\Rtools\\bin" [3] "c:\\Rtools\\perl\\bin"...

Working with Sweave: inverse search?
The xdvi and yap DVI viewers allow inverse (aka reverse) search: you click on a location in the output display, and your editor moves to the corresponding location in the input file. yap at least also allows forward search, where you can have your editor tell it to location where a particular input line is di...

Simple dialplan issue
I have an issue where a particular dialplan works but another doesn't. I'm not sure why. To me they look identical and it has me stumped. This works: [to-test] exten => _X., 1, SetCallerPres(allowed) exten => _X., 2, Monitor(wav,/tmp/test-${UNIQUEID},mb) exten => _X., 3, Ringing exten => _X., 4, Dial(SIP/9330 at a-test,20,ro) exten => _X., 5,

Softphones
Hi All, I'm currently using SJPhone as a sip client with Asterisk. It works perfectly with a USB Yap Phone but there is was slight problem! If I setup SJphone to use the USB device for audio the ringing tone is also over the USB device. If I'm away from my desk I can't hear the phone ring! Is there an option to use one audio device for calls but another for the ringing sound? Alternativel...

SMS using a PRI channel
Hi, I have some experience in sending SMSs using smsclient. I call the german Vodafone SMSC (01722278020), and smsclient takes approx 20 secs to send a SMS. The hardware is an Sedlbauer ISDN card. Now, I want to do the same using asterisk and a digium PRI card. I dialed using the manager with: action: originate channel: Zap/g4/01722278020 ... I assumed, the call will fail, because the remote

IAX issues with 1.4.19.1
I upgraded one of our servers to 1.4.19.1 last evening, but ended up having to drop back because of IAX calls failing at a near 50 % rate. Here is the message that we would receive on the console (multiple times), and then it would hangup the call. Avoiding IAX destroy deadlock Anyone else having similar problems? Thanks, Mike Clark

Bugfix patch for vorbize, compat patch for grip
Hey. Last night I hacked grip so that it'd allow me to use vorbize and comments with grip. It's very ugly because grip'd need a bit of rearrangement in order to facilitate the way the vorbis comments work (that is, the comments are not added in after the encoded file has been written). Any one who wants to use it should patch grip-2.94 (http://www.nostatic.org/grip), and make sure you

I am changing it to the above versions i.e 1.6.6-1 and 1.13.5-1 respectively, because I want to compile the channel_h323 code from JerJer who stated that it must be a Janus-2 version.
