Malformed HTML
I''m using Mechanize to parse an extraordinarily malformed html page.
After submitting a form like so:
page = mech.submit(dform)
The result I get back is truncated. I suspect that it''s because the
source HTML looks like this:
<html>
<head> yadda yadda</head>
<p>some text</p>
<html>
<table yadda yadda>
My ''page'' variable contains only the data that occurs before the
second <html> tag.
Am I right in suspecting that this is the cause of my problems? Are
there any work-aro...

Non-default Domain group RID and NAS problem....
...ave a commercial NAS (EMC) in the domain.
It has worked fine for basic home directories, but as we expand the
number of shared group directories we have started to see flakiness of
CIFS group privileges/access, and the NAS' logs show a set of errors like:
Secmap: Cannnot resolve sid S-1-5-15-yadda-yadda-202
LGDB: Cannot get info for S-1-5-15-yadda-yadda-202
Secmap: Cannnot resolve sid S-1-5-15-yadda-yadda-201
LGDB: Cannot get info for S-1-5-15-yadda-yadda-201
Then we see a series of not-very-informative/verbose "permission denied"

Cisco 7960 XML/Configs
I ordered 10 7960's with SIP today (YAY!), I should have them on Monday!
So, to be better prepared come Monday morning, I was wondering if anyone
knew of any * compatible screen configs for things such as browsing VM,
etc, yadda, yadda. I checked out the wiki about ADSI but from what I
see, that's not really applicable in a SIP setup? I'm guessing it's
going to be a more XML and static HTML based type of setup.

why is dovecot "Allowing any password"

preexisting IMAP server supposedly is *not* using the same
backend/data/passwords.
I'ld guess that *if* you have the IMAP server configured to look up the
same backend/data (including support for exotic authentication methods,
"Exchange style" cross-user access rights management, yadda yadda), the
requirement to defeat authentication from SOGo to the IMAP server may
become moot.
But until then - Exchange takes its entire auth from AD, and SOGo's
LDAP, *not* the IMAP server's passdb, is the analogue of that.

Winamp3 Player Plugin error
The Winamp3 hit the streets yesterday, so i gave the FLAC Winamp3 plugin a
shot (dragged cnv_flacpcm.wac to the Wacs/ directory, yadda yadda) and
received the following error message when starting Winamp3:

Thank you Rsay, it was a nice try, but I could not get this to work with my Logitech mic. For the record I have it (the microphone, that is) set up so that it works fine in Audacity.
After opining Wine configure, dmesg gives me lots of these:

A little help with Wine installation
Okay so I'm a newbie to Ubuntu and I just got a new system with Ubuntu on it. Now my mother's computer runs Ubuntu as well, and I used hers to get some experience with Ubuntu seeing as how my system has no Internet access and I can't get help on it and yadda yadda I'll get to the point. I installed Wine on this system (my mother's) and now am trying to get it on mine. I downloaded this right here from the WineHQ site:

tsig verify failure
Hi!
My Samba 4 system seems to be running reasonably well, but...
I am getting the following error:
TSIG error with servier: tsig verify failure
Faied nsupdate: 2
yadda, yadda.
This is from the command *samba_dnsupdate --verbose --all-names
*All I can find on the web is time synchronization problems.
Any ideas?

kinit: cannot resolve servers for kdc in realm "${REALM}" while getting

roobie noobie migration question
...just at the "reading various rails tutorials" stage.
One thing that has puzzled me a couple of times so far is the fact that
the creation of the database is not part of the "migration".
The steps as I''ve seen them are always:
1) $ rails myapplication
2) $ mysqladmin yadda yadda to create a table
3) $ script/generate migration myWickedTable
4) put rows and columns in the migration script
5) $ rake migrate

Failed Network
...nd it still refuses to work. I can assign it
a manual IP address, but it still doesn''t communicate on the network
(no ping, etc). If I boot the standard (no xen) kernel, all is fine
and the network works properly.
in dmesg (from debian) the network card is found

Samba 3.0.5 cannot mount Windows 2003 shares

I've also tried the fstab line above, substituting smbfs for cifs and I
get "missing or invalid username," despite the fact that
/etc/credentials is in the format:
username=vermyndax
password=(nottelling)
cifs also fails with the same error if I try to do a "mount -t cifs
yadda yadda".
I have SMB signing disabled on the 2003 server and this was working fine
until the upgrade to 3.0.4 and now 3.0.5. I've spent the better part of
two days trying to figure out what's going on, but cannot unravel it.
Can anyone here give me some pointers on what I can check?...

This manual seems to assuming I already know what it is I want to do,
and what "Directory Services" are all about. Invalid assumption.
For example, right now I am reading about how to set up different
instances of this-or-that (Admin Server, Directory Server, yadda,
yadda). What it does not tell me is why I would want to do that. It
does not even tell me "what is an 'instance'" .
I've never done any sort of DS, so this is all new stuff to me.
Suggested reading is very welcomed.
