Suspicious activity on domain
...names in the trace from tcpdump, I can
reconstitute names of files on the server. Unless I'm mistaken this type
of information shouldn't be circulating on port 139?

Domain DFS on samba 4
...ions but this is something we need. From what I understand Samba 3
cannot run domain DFS because it requires Active Directory. I would like
to know if this will be possible with Samba 4?

TS licensing problem on samba domain
Hello,
We have recently joined a Windows Server 2008 R1 on our samba domain as
a domain member. The samba domain controller runs Samba version 3.4.9 on
FreeBSD 8.2.
We use the Windows Server as a terminal server for our domain users who
need an accounting application called Acomba. Therefore we have added TS

Throughput problem with Samba 3.3.4 over VPN
Hi,
I am currently in the process of improving performance for a Samba 3.3.4
server on FreeBSD 7.0. The samba server works great when mounted from
another machine located on the same network but when I try to use it
over our corporate VPN (OpenVPN with tap interface) the throughput won't
go over 4,5 Mbps. The ping between the samba client and the server is
