Where is .xsession-errors
Hi Yesterday I was using OpenOffice Impress, doing many cut/paste operations with images, and without any notice/message/warning the application die. Then I look for ~/.xsession-errors file to see any signal about the problem, but I realized that ~/.xsession-errors is no longer present. This is a new behaviour of X.org ? I'm running CentOS 4 and XFree86 Version 4.3.0.1 (Debian 4.3.0.dfsg.1-8 20040928112350 fabbione at fabbione.net) Release Date: 15 August 2003 X Pr...

real_rip variable addition for dovecot 2.1.10
Timo, Please check the code. I didn't add it, but a real_lip might be useful for some people as well. Also, I notice that pop3-proxy is doing a different xsession than the imap proxy. Is there an xsession standard that is different between the two, or just an oversight in the code? Both send the remote address/port, but only imap proxy sends the local address/port. This patch declares long variable %{real_rip} so that a backend server can declare a diff...

How can I get .xsession-errors back?
I did some research and see a LOT of folks would love to get rid of their .xsession-errors file and I'm in the opposite situation -- where is mine? Do I have to install or enable something special to get this back. All my users are starting X with startx and the default .xinitrc. Is this the problem? -- -------------------------------------------- MzK "We can all sleep...

Re: libvirt beginner needs to create and start VMs entirely on command line
This is offtopic, but related to what you’ve told me so far. I’m having some trouble getting the VNC connection to work. Technically, the “connection” is working fine, but the Windows TightVNC Viewer comes up with an error dialog saying this: Xsession: unable to start X session --- no "/home/.../.xsession" file, no "/home/.../.Xsession" file, no session managers, no window managers, and no terminal emulators found; aborting. The ~/.xsession-errors file on the remote box says the same thing (so that confirms my port forwardin...

Frustrating xsession crashes
Hi all, I was wondering if some one could give me ideas on how I can troubleshoot the following problem; log files to check, etc? I?m running CentOS 7.2.1511 with KDE. I login and open 1 or 2 shells. If I leave the system alone for about 15 minutes and then try to open another shell I get the error; Could not launch terminal client At this time, upon clicking on the lower left hand menu, the

RC1 Zfs writes a lot slower when running X
Hi, I have OpenSolaris on an Amd64 Asus-A8NE with 2gig of Rams and 4x320 gig sata drives in raidz1. With dd, I can write at quasi disk maximum speed of 80meg each for a total of 250meg/s if I have no Xsession at all (only console tty). But as soon as I have an Xsession running, the write speed drops to about 120MB/s. Its even worse if I have a VBoxHeadless running with an idle win2k3 inside. It drops to 30 MB/s. The CPU is at 0% in both cases and nothing is using the array either. I tried to investiga...

[Bug 500] show how to start-up ssh-agent by default...
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=500 ------- Additional Comments From djm at mindrot.org 2003-02-24 12:43 ------- I think that: [ -z "$SSH_AUTH_SOCK" ] && eval `ssh-agent -s` [ -z "$SSH_AGENT_PID" ] || ssh-add -l >/dev/null 2>&1 || ssh-add Is as effective and a lot more concise. On the other hand, fragile heuristics like: > export

Eggcups printer icon not showing up in panel
I did a "side grade" on a client's machine freom FC2 to Centos4.2. I am not seeing the eggcups printer icon appear when the user sends a print job. One problem was that I had to copy /etc/X11/xdm/Xsession.rpmnew into place so that the DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS variable got set correctly. The messagebus service is running, as well as hal. There is a notification area in the panel. I can manually start eggcups and not get an error. (It returns 0). But it immediately exits, and no printer icon....

Error in xorg-x11-xinit
Hello, if login as user I get the following error message in ~/.xsession-errors*: /etc/X11/xinit/Xsession: line 15: unask: command not found Changing 'unask' to 'umask' seems to fix it. This happens under CentOS 5 and 5.1. regards Olaf
