[lld] Has anybody ever run into the Solaris linker before?
...aris had done quite a few innovations in the linker space, but I had never actually looked at their iinker (the time I spent interacting with Solaris/illumos was related to DTrace stuff and happened before I started working on linkers). The basic layout seems to be: http://src.illumos.org/source/xref/illumos-gate/usr/src/cmd/ sgs/ld/common/ld.c This is where `main` is. The actual linker has a "main in a library" type interface that is called into from main() by: 718 /* Call the libld entry point for the specified ELFCLASS */ 719 if (class == ELFCLASS64) 720 return (ld64_main(argc, a...

Request for AutoCAD help with Samba server!
Hi everyone, If you have experience using Samba < 2.0.7 with AutoCAD 2000/2000i or R14 on a LAN, where the Windows 2000 Professional clients running AutoCAD 2000/2000i are opening .dwg files and XREFS off of the server, particularly if you know tips on tuning Samba's performance so that AutoCAD reports it can't find files on the server or load XREFs, please either post your comments to the list or you can email me off list. separate home "partition"?
(i use the term loosely because i know that zfs likes whole volumes better) when installing ubuntu, i got in the habit of using a separate partition for my home directory so that my data and gnome settings would all remain intact when i reinstalled or upgraded. i''m running osol 2008.11 on an ultra 20, which has only two drives. i''ve got all my data located in my home directory,

RFC: EfficiencySanitizer
...ots will be? > > -Hal > > There are many reasons that may cause the cache misses. Since we are not doing a full cache simulation, we won't be to report the cache-miss for all cases. However, it is possible in certain cases. Because we could keep up to 8 snapshot of the working set (xref the working set tool RFC), we could easily identify the memory reference that touches a cache line that were not touched in the previous snapshot. Such references has a high chance to cause cache misses. The tools here are trying to provide more information and hopefully some > insight of the p...
