PORTING to IBM OS/390: select() always returning 0 in entropy.c
...executed the select() seems to be returning 0 and therefore the cose is assuming that the forked process has timed out. This could be a difference in the way that select is implemented on OS/390. The Unix environment provided by OS/390 has many compatability levels from including several POSIX and XPG variants. I am not a C expert and the debugegr is not very good, has anyone come across smiliar behavior before. A description of the select() on OS/390 can be found at: http://www.s390.ibm.com/bookmgr-cgi/bookmgr.cmd/BOOKS/EDCLB031/4%2e1%2e131?SHELF=CBCBS031 Thanks, Paul Anderson -------------- n...

SSL / TLS
I am running Postfix and Dovecot on my mail server. I am required now to have SSL/TLS on my mail server. I did check and found out that I have a SSL certificate with Verisign issued to my mail servers FQDN. Now my question is when reading the Dovecot Wiki, I noticed it said that it is not common to use SSL but rather TLS on most mail servers. Even though SSL will work, which should I use on my

Qt device update
Hi, a few days back I had asked for help on a Qt device package. Thanks to hints from Duncan TL and Thomas Friedrichsmeier, I now have something more or less functional. For those interested, It can be downloaded from http://dsarkar.fhcrc.org/R/R-Qt.html I have a couple of related questions. First, dev.interactive(), used in example() and many demo()-s to decide if the current device is

patches for xiph build setup
Hi, I offered some time ago to do some build cleanup. Today I did so and here's my slew of patches. Basically, they - touch ogg, vorbis, vorbis-tools and theora - fix a bunch of autotools issues - uniformize the use of them across the four - fix compile/link flags - use pkgconfig if it's available to detect flags - for vorbis-tools, generate and use config.h - add -uninstalled .pc stuff

Rebuild of kernel 2.6.9-67.0.20.EL failure
Hello list. I'm trying to rebuild the 2.6.9.67.0.20.EL kernel, but it fails even without modifications. How did I try it? Created a (non-root) build environment (not a mock ) Installed the kernel.scr.rpm and did a rpmbuild -ba --target=`uname -m` kernel-2.6.spec 2> prep-err.log | tee prep-out.log The build failed at the end: Processing files: kernel-xenU-devel-2.6.9-67.0.20.EL Checking
