patch: SDI Xpe images support for pxelinux
...ll possible.

If you want to load SDI images you can use WinPE instead of XPe. You'll
need to patch the ntldr and startrom.com to point to different winnt.sif
files (to load different images) but you can get it to work very nicely.
Plus you don't need to import the ntldr blobs etc. Just need a part/disk
BLOB.
Does this help?

patch: SDI Xpe images support for pxelinux
Hi,
I added support in pxelinux for SDI (Wndows XP embedded images) files
a few time ago for specific needs. It works well (at least for me atm)
and I think I can now submit it to this list.
I get a very good improvement in speed over the traditional way of
loading SDI images.

Citrix reports no more connections to samba server
Hi All
I have a Win2K server with Citrix Metaframe XPe installed on the network and
uses mapped network drives to a Samba file server. The Citrix server is
locking users out of the mapped network drive on the samba server.
Citrix has 125 concurrent licences and Terminal services licences of the
same amount
Samba version is 2.2.3a Running on a Redhat...

Thanks in advance

Chainboot to XP Embedded
...contain an XP Embedded system which is read-only and
which will always boot from a hibernate file. What I'd like to be able to do
if flip-flop between them at runtime (that is, run from OS1 and then
programatically select the OS to boot into on the next boot). The catch is,
in order to use the XPe hibernate-one-resume-many feature, both of these
systems are read only so I just can't go and tweak the boot.ini file.
I was looking at the chain boot capabilities of syslinux, but I haven't had
luck getting this going. So far I only have a system like this:
[BOOT: (FAT16 w/ SYSLINUX)] [...

2) question:
is it possible to create a multi bootcd with iso linux to load bartpe
too?
Thanks in advance

memdisk, free memory
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
I am having trouble with memdisk not freeing all all memory - mem /c
shows only about 570K memory (and I happen to need that extra memory in
DOS ... :-( ).
I found some (rather old) information about this issue. It seems as if
this is just what is happening to me:

SDI support works correctly (sdi.c32)
Hi,
As I have not seen any confirmation yet on the list,
I just wanted to let you know that sdi.c32 works fine here,
at least as fine as my initial syslinux-2.11 asm patch.
I only use XPe SDI images with the following structure
(of course PART blob size can vary):
Type Offset Size Base Address Attr

BOOT 0x00000000.00001000 0x00000000.00005EC2 0x00000000.00000000 0x0000000...

PXELinux with 3C509 and mba-on-disk or with vmware
...r with one client provided with a
3C509B ISA card. I boot the later with a floppy bootable rom image taken
from http://www.rom-o-matic.net/
Everything is working just fine. I decided to try to set up a PXE
network boot (I'll needed it for installing a linux system on a laptop
with a capable XPE bios and without floppy or bootable cdroms) and I
tried two different approach, both failed.
1. With the 3C509B ISA card
Since this card has not pxe capabilities I download from 3com an mba on
disk kit: that allows you to create a bootable disk for network booting

How to enable F12 key to start PXE boot?
I researched on Archive, but the instruction says to copy startrom.com to
startrom.0,
so I changed boot program to startrom.0 instead of pxelinux.0, it gives
me a TFTP error saying file not found.
then I keep startrom.0, change boot program back to pxelinux.0, then I do
not see F12 key and boot directly to PXE.
then I change the boot program to startrom.com it asked me to press F12,
but can
