Xorcom BRI state NOTOPEN
...I recently got a problem I have never seen during my previous
installations.
I have a Xorcom device with 4 BRI and 8 FXS ports. I use ubuntu Linux
and asterisk 1.4.22. Everything works fine but after some time zap
channels disappear in asterisk.

alpha transparency doesn't work for lines when xpd=TRUE
Dear R-devel,
I think I've found a bug - the alpha transparency doesn't work when plotting lines with xpd = TRUE.
#works
plot(1:20, col="#1874CD", xpd=T, type="l")
#works
plot(1:20, col="#1874CD50", xpd=F, type="l")
#doesn't work
plot(1:20, col="#1874CD50", xpd=T, type="l")
Thank you.

legend() with xpd=T; omission of initial plot character (PR#943)
In the following:
plot(0:1, 0:1)
legend(x=0, y=1.2, pch=c(1,2), legend=c("May","June"))
the first plot character is omitted when plotting to
the screen.
I obtained the same behaviour when placing a legend
in the margin following use of pairs()

Legend outside the plot? xpd?
...w each other
mfrow=c(3,1)), saved to pdf. The three plot data on the same subject so I'm
having one legend, to the right of the center graph. I'm using
mar=c(5,15,4,15) to bring the sides in so that the graphs are square and not
stretched wide. To have the graph to the side I'm thinking xpd=T. Each graph
has a number of points and lines overlaid, so plot
();lines(),lines(),lines() etc.
The data is somewhat of a subset of a larger set, so I'm limiting what is
being displayed. The lines plot trends of the wider data.
P: With xpd=T, the lines are going right out of the graph boxes...

barplot forces xpd=TRUE (PR#1088)

barplot hardcodes xpd as "TRUE" causing the bars to go outside of the
plot region. True can be the default, but it shouldn't be the only
option.

Adding Two-Headed Arrow in map legend
Hi Milu,
My fault here. As I don't have the data to make the map and try out my
suggestions I mixed up the x and y coordinates. Try this:
par(xpd=TRUE)
arrows(-19.75966,53,33.60000,53,code=3)
par(xpd=FALSE)

adding custom axis to image.plot() and strange clipping behavior
...he image. I have previously accomplished this with two calls to image(), but the package 'fields' has a wrapper function, image.plot(), which does this task conveniently.
However, I could not add axes to the original image after a call to image.plot(); I have found that I needed to set par(xpd=TRUE) within the function to allow this to happen:
###=== begin code
library(fields)
## make data matrix
m <- matrix(1:15,ncol=3)
## plot
image.plot(m,axes=FALSE)
axis(1) # doesn't work
par(xpd=TRUE)
axis(1) # still doesn't work
## replace the 28th element of the body of image.plot(...

barplot y axis too short
...t doesn't necessarily
cover the range of y-values to be plotted. I know how to manually create my
own y-axis so that it does cover the range, but I was wondering if there is
some parameter to change so that the scale of the y-axis is automatically
taller than the tallest bar.
I thought setting xpd=F would do it, since it says that xpd determines
whether bars will be plotted outside of the plotting region, but it had no
effect, so I guess it must be dealing with something different.
In the example below, the scale goes to 15 but the second bar goes to 16. In
this case I would like the scale...
