embeding xml to ogg
...suggestion falls well short of an optimal
solution. The Vorbis docs even state "arbitrary
metadata belongs in a separate logical
bitstream (usually an XML stream type) that
provides greater structure and machine
parseability".
The optimal solution is described at:
https://wiki.xiph.org/XMLEmbedding
However, this draft hasn't been touched since
2007.
The other problem was that adding a separate
XML stream to an Ogg container would break
many existing players. Presumably, since the
introduction of Ogg Skeleton, that is not such a
problem now.

The page says at the top:
"This page aims to give an overview of the
current state of metadata in Ogg and the
ongoing projects towards improving it."
which would seem to include draft specs. For
now, I have made it clear that M3F and
XMLEmbedding are drafts.
However, if somebody wants to zap M3F then
I, for one, will not object. It hasn't been
touched since 2008.

As I understand it, the situation now is that
including Ogg Skeleton breaks apps. That
has to be changed if you want to move
forward into things like XMLEmbedding.

You haven't specified any requirements, so I have no idea what would be
more helpful.

As that page says, "This page is for development of a specification for
embedding XML streams in Ogg.". "XML streams" are not simply XML
documents. They are _temporally subdivided_ XML documents, such as Jabber
(XMPP) conversation streams.

Proposal for Ambisonics format in vorbis comment.
...FLAC streams in an Ogg container
(Ogg FLAC), and so have an unlimited
number of channels. However, in this case,
the metadata should not be in the FLAC
stream(s) but in the Ogg container. There is
no simple way to do this, but possibilities
include name-value pairs in an Ogg Skeleton
stream and a XMLEmbedding stream.(9)
Finally, your proposal only considers
Ambisonic B-Format. UHJ and G-Format are
also part of Ambisonics. There is an official
file format for UHJ,(10) and a proposal for
G-Format.(11) UHJ could be accommodated
into your proposal quite simply using the
VorbisComment "AMBISONIC:UHJ...
