Which encoder?
I was going through some of my old CD-Rs and I found some really old
Vorbis files. They sound pretty decent though the bitrate is really
high(~200 kbps). Their vendor string is Xiphophorus libVorbis I
20000508. I looked on http://wiki.xiph.org/XiphHistory but that doesn't
list any encoders from June 08, 2000. Could these files come from a
pre-Beta1 encoder? It also says it was encoded by FreeRIP MP3 though it
gives no version number.

Ogg icons / glyphs -- use of copyrighted images?
...ve a standard icon and/or glyphs identified for GUI-based
applications?
I'm adding Vorbis support to CDMaster32 and I'm finding I'm in need of 17x17
glyphs (.bmp) to graphically show progress of OGG files.
Has anyone thought about this?
If not I was thinking of modifying/reducing the Xiphophorus "fish" logo to
use in my application; however, since the xiph www site claims these are
both trademarked and copyrighted; I wondered what the rules are regarding
these logos... including possible modification for GUI applications.
Comments/Suggestions?

CVS problem
Thanks, removing the compression fixed the problem.
I set up a script to checkout and compress for download CVS-only material from Xiphophorus -- http://pmw.myip.org/xiph_cvs/. So far I only have it to download three modules, so if there's anything else, please let me know.
Also, if anyone knows how to bypass the interactive password prompt of the CVS, please let me know... piping a password to it does not work....

Fixed-point Vorbis decoder
...d rather not try to reverse-engineer specifications from the existing Vorbis
code, so I'd like to know, is there any complete specification of the format
and decoding algorithm, or even a rough draft of one with enough information
to implement a decoder from scratch?
If not, is there anyone at Xiphophorus willing to work with me to create one
(a specification, a new decoder implementation, or both)?
Many thanks,

Ogg vorbis decoder - Independent implementation questions
...der made available on PC, TMS320C67x platform (More platforms to follow). More information about the same can be fetched from
www.vinjey.com/ogg.html
Now there is couple of questions for which we are looking for the answers.
a. What are the set of conditions we need to oblige before using the Xiphophorus and Ogg Vorbis logo on our website?
b. Ours is an independent implementation of the Ogg vorbis decoder. We are interested in knowing about whether there are any other independent implementations of ogg vorbis decoder available?

Happy New Year! RC3 Released!
Happy New Year from the Xiphophorus Team.
It took longer than we thought, but I think everyone will agree this is
our best release yet.
With drastic quality improvements and new bitrate management features,
this release brings us one step closer to 1.0.
Along with all the lovely VBR modes you are used to, you now have

Ogg Vorbis, DirectSound and Delphi
Hi,
I've just downloaded the Ogg Vorbis source, LIB and DLL files from
www.xiph.org and I've been trying to get them working in Borland Delphi 3
Pro. Has anyone managed to get OV to decode and play an OGG file using
Delphi?
Ideally I'd like to use DirectSound (part of DirectX), via the UnDelphiX
(DelphiX with the JEDI headers) components.
Also, if I choose to sell a

Vorbis stream on-line
Greetings:
Ouch, that's not good. I can tap into the stream just fine with 'xmms
http://64.108.112.135:8000/shouter.ogg' but not by clicking on the same
address as a link. More debugging ahead... ;)
Btw, I've restarted the stream.
Thanks for the report !
