Feature request: Multi-head awareness in compiz and plugins
There have been offered several patches in order to forward Xinerama
support to Xgl and patches for compiz to make use of it (like iXce's
ones, which were ignored).
So far the patched up compiz is working pretty good and makes it
effectively usable in such setups (aside of that those patches will
always drift away from official CVS and need to be touched for ea...

x11() and Xinerama settings
Hello
Since I changed my X11 settings to a Xinerama setup, calls to x11() result in
windows with a width half the size of the one specified by the corresponding
parameter. Furthermore, x axis labels are overlapping. Other devices (e.g.
pdf()), are not affected by these distortions.
Did anybody have the same problem, and if so, how did you solve...

Crash with Xinerama enabled [patch]
Dear nouveau hackers,
I got as far as figuring out that Xinerama is deprecated now... Too bad
WindowMaker doesn't play well with RandR. While painfully learning about
it, I managed to crash my Xorg 1.5.3 server through the nouveau driver.
The attached patch fixes it.
To reproduce the crash, simply run X with Xinerama enabled.

xinerama support
Hi,
Is xinerama taken into account in wine? When I open an app in my recently
configured 2 display workstations the windos spans both displays.
Is there a solution for this?
Thanks

multiple cards and monitors with xrandr and opengl
....
The nv$dia proprietary driver is not an option - they have artificially
restricted the amount of monitors in the "base mosaic" feature (ref.
https://www.phoronix.com/forums/forum/linux-graphics-x-org-drivers/x-org-drm/46705-linux-multi-head-success-with-8-monitors-in-1-x-screen-without-xinerama

What might cause the monitors to drop out? I can provide some logs
later next week (which file should I look at?)
Could using nv$dia's proprietary firmware in noveau help?

Sampsa

[PATCH xf86-video-nouveau] Do not register hotplug without RandR
When using Xinerama, RandR is automatically disabled, and calling RR
routines will trigger an assert() because the RR keys/resources are
not set, leading to an Xserver abort.
Hotplug makes little sense without RandR, so no need to install a
udev monitor if RandR is not available.

X11 device distortion (PR#10666)
Full_Name: Thomas Zumbrunn
Version: 2.6.1
OS: GNU/Linux (openSuse 10.3 2.6.22.13-0.3-default)
Submission from: (NULL) (131.152.125.199)
With my particular X11 settings, the width to height ratio of the x11 device is
distorted, with the width being half that of the height. This results in wrongly
proportioned plots, wrongly positioned text etc.
Other devices are not affected.

[Bug 47556] New: nouveau driver can`t handle xrandr requests
...n nouveau
comes out on strike:
xrandr --output LVDS-1 --right-of VGA-1
Previously it was showing garbage on the external screen but now with Xorg
7.6_1.10.4-201.1 and nouveau-0.0.16_20110720_b806e3f-34 it is just switching to
the text console (you can see it) and then crashing Xorg itself.
A Xinerama setup with nouveau would be very fine for my working environment
(external screen + keyboard, at different resolution).

beryl fork
I've seen that a lot of inaccurate and faulty information about this.
All technical reasons (alternative configuration system, alternative
decorator, xinerama...) for this fork are incorrect and I know that at
least Quinn Storm is aware of this, based on a phone conversation we had
last week.
I've designed compiz to be extremely extensible. The plugin system
should allow people to do almost anything and I've put high priority in
making sure tha...

Install XGL under CentOS 5 with ATI X600 and dual-head configuration
Hi again.
I've got a laptop with an ATI X600 inside, perfectly working xorg with
dual head configuration, 2 desktops (without xinerama).
I've got 2 xorg.conf files, one for propietary ATI (fglrx) driver, and
other to use the open source driver. The difference is very notorious.
The problem I have is that I read (Saint Google) that to work with
compiz/beryl and dual-head configuration, I need to install XGL. That is
why I wrote...

ATI video driver problems
User got upgraded to 6.4. Graphical mode video fails.
It's an AMD (nee ATI) RV620 (FirePro 2260).
So I finished upgrading everything, including kmod-fglrx. Based on the
xorg.conf's on there, it's been using the fglrx. Now, in Xorg.0.log, it
tells me "no supported AMD display adapters were found". I've been
on-and-off googling for hours, and can't figure out if the

zsh: segmentation fault wine Steam.exe
I'm running Slackware 64 with multilib and I've tried to compile wine as both a 32bit and 64bit app, using the prebuilt slackware packages all using version 1.3.26 and 1.2.3.
I've got 2 monitors and I've tried using a dual screen xinerama layout and a layout with just a single screen. I'm happy to have two xorg.conf and I can just switch to one when I want to play if it comes to that, so for now I'm just ignoring the xinerama setup.
