All of the routers I've seen merely firewall inbound traffic, allowing
none. There's no need for NAT or rolling IPs.

for Comcast/Xfinity, I'm using a Arris SB6183 that I got at Costco.
this is a simple modem/bridge, so /my/ router behind it gets the public IP.
I have a spare SB6121, which is DOCSIS 3.0 up to about 130Mbps max (my
current internet is around 180Mbps). I'd sell this for $30 + S&H,

Asterisk use with verizon hotspot
Apparently Verizon is blocking or changing packets on port 5060 so my
softphone from my hotspot will not work.
How do I set asterisk (11.23.0) to run default 5060 for all other devices I
have - BUT for my software run on a different port like 5070? I'm using
linphone and is easy to change the ports from 5060 to 5070 ( I think).
Thanks,
Jerry

Howto install Centos6/7 Comcast WA/OR
Has anyone managed to install a Centos6 or Centos7 in Washington or
Orgegon, or anywhere else that Comcast has deployed the IPV6to4
routers. The router in question is a Xfinity DCP3939 Router with
Wireless, and I'm trying to get a Centos system working behind that
router (with a wired connection), and enable SSH access from outside.
Does one have to enable both IPV6 and IPV4?
Can I enable IPV6 after install, or do I have to restart the
installation from scratch (i...

...ustomer, you may want to use a smart host configuration - e.g. define('SMART_HOST','[smtp.comcast.net]') . For postfix, use relayhost = [smtp.comcast.net] .
Now when you send mail to that relay it will relay it. This is provided you are entitled to have your email relayed - contact Xfinity customer service for help there.
If using this relay does not work, please post the exchange starting with the HELO (check your maillog or do it by hand with telnet).

XML package not working
I know I cannot be the only one who is not able to install the XML package from CRAN (zip or tar file) Many packages depend on this XML package. Can someone help me either access the source for a good binary? I have received no assistance from the author/developer of the package.

Exactly. My dad will absolutely stop using his iPad if it ever
requires him to use anything more than 4 numeric digits for his
password. The iPad never leaves the house.
Future concern is IPv6 stuff, now that Xfinity has forcibly changed
their hardware to include full IPv6 support. I have no idea if this is
NAT'd or rolling IPs or what. But the iPad has no remote services
enabled. And the Mac has SSH PKA required. So I'm not that concerned
about their crappy login passwords. Their online services are an...

Fedora change that will probably affect RHEL

Since most of that crap comes from Windows hosts, the security of Linux
SSH passwords seems hardly relevant.
