Wrong, I made a mistake it does not. A SIGHUP does not make nsd reread
it's config file. When using nsd-control I get an error:
# nsd-control delzone test.xaq.nl
error zone defined in nsd.conf, cannot delete it in this manner: remove
it from nsd.conf yourself and repattern
The output of "nsd-checkconf -v /etc/nsd/nsd.conf":

I was trying some rules with multiple source addresses:
iptables -A FORWARD -s 10.1.1.1,10.1.1.2 -j ACCEPT
This works fine. No problem. But I happened to make a typo:

tinydns to nsd
...her easy to script. Just rsync the zone files and send a
HUP to the supervisor. If a nameserver is not reachable it it will
autmagically synchronise.
Are there good reasons *not* to use nsd this way? This will not be a
1000000 queries per second system BTW.

And at this point, I obtained the following 20 files:

Then I delete the some files, say, xab and xae, from the above little
files, and then use the cat tool to regenerate the Packages.bz2 by only
using the remaining little files:
