Padl XAD
Has anyone tried the PADL identity server? It looks
like it provides Active Dircectory, LDAP, and
Kerberos. I'd love to here about people's experience
with it.

The --inplace is very different from the behaviour of --partial when resuming a complex case transfer.
...I do the following testings on the `--inplace' and `--partial' for
resuming a file with the following steps:
1- rsync ftp.cn.debian.org::debian/dists/wheezy/main/binary-amd64/
Packages.gz .
2- split -b 1M Packages.gz
At this point, I obtained the following eight files:
xaa xab xac xad xae xaf xag xah
3- Then I remove two files, say, xab, and xae from the above eight files,
and then use cat to regenerate the Packages.gz:
for i in xaa xac xad xaf xag xah ; do
cat $i >> Packages.gz;
done
4- Resuming the rsync transfer with the `--inplace' and `--partial'...

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Symbol offsets
+the people I hashed this out with so many months ago
I think it's a reasonable proposal, but obviously I floated it. :) Let's
try to get a second opinion.
Again, it's a syntax something like:
define void @foo() prefix [i8* x 2] { i8* @a, i8* @b } prologue [i8 x 4]
c"\xde\xad\xbe\xef" { ret void }

Samba RPMs for RedHat/FC and idmap_rid
...other hand, seems to have been patching in idmap_rid
support since 3.0.5 or so; and with trusted domain
support, to boot. Harrumph.
I've been able to rebuild samba srpms on FC2 and
RedHat 8 by patching the samba distributed rpms, and
get idmap_rid support which is a lot easier than using
the xad plugins (no offense to PADL and Luke H., but
our setup is simple so idmap_rid is all we need). The
diffs are attached; it would be nice if they could be
mainlined.
Thanks, Murthy
PS: It is way cool that mappings produced by RH8, FC2
and SuSE 9.2 are same, with so little effort, thanks

Samba PDC/Windows BDC domain sync
...on a domain controller. Since domain
sync doesn't work between Samba and NT4 it looks like I'm stuck:
either ditch all the software we run on domain controllers, stay with
our current 2-auth-db system, or move at least our Windows machines
to AD, none of which I want to do.
I appears that XAD 2.0 may be able to do what I want, and I'm checking
on it's availablity, but I was wondering if anyone has any bright ideas
for getting the Samba PDC to do what I want. Right now it looks like the
best thing to do is to hack up a sync tool for WinNT <-> OpenLDAP to keep
the passwords...

Call recording - methodology
Hello Everyone;
I am looking for a solution to record calls that come into our Asterisk
server. I am hoping for something that is easy to use - however, if I
have to modify it to make it easier to use, I do not mind.
Does anyone know of any opensource or otherwise solutions out there that
I can try out?
Thanks much.

Fair enough. If there is consensus around a reasonably concrete proposal
I would be happy to put together a patch

AD function without AD
I'm very interesting in attempting to get the control over my windows
machines that AD offers, without actually have AD.
I know samba 3 can be a AD member server.. Are there any other
projects that integrate samba, ldap, kerberos to make a active
directory like system?
Note that I said AD like. My goals include
1) single sign on through kerb
2) access control through ldap groups
3)

I've tried everything I can think of. I kept thinking it must be
something I needed to configure when I changed over from padl xad to the

Everything had been working for the last 2 years. AD. samba, and unix
passwords are synchronized.
