How do I get substring of utf-8 string?
I''m trying to get substring from a utf-8 encoded string. (say, first
50 characters of the string) String#[0..49] would give me the first
50 bytes not 50 characters..
I know there is jcode library, but it only let you count number of
characters in utf-8 string.
unicode gem doesn''t seem to help much. unicode_hacks gem seem to
solve the problem, but it also seems to

How Ogg mappings translate into the codecs parameter in Ogg media types
I think it would be helpful. Being able to say that the magic resides
in the first 8 bytes for all our codecs is a plus when it comes to
parsing and consistency. We could go for 9 instead, but that's
somewhat of an odd number...
I don't think the \x80 is too much of an issue, but I don't know what
that packet type field is really used for.
Cheers,
Silvia.

I have a Samba 3.6 PDC (ClearOS) that I want to migrate to Sernet Samba

So I am reading:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Migrating_a_Samba_NT4_domain_to_a_Samba_AD_domain_%28classic_upgrade%29
And trying to figure out what files I need. Note this is a totally NEW
box, I need to copy over the needed files. So do I move all of the .tdb
files? There are actually

On the 4 tests I did, I always get the same result.
Is that normal or is something going wrong ?

Incluir un rango de varias variables explicativas a un modelo
Hola, gracias por la respuesta,
No me funcionó debido a que los nombres de las variables no están seriadas,
es decir, los nombres de las variables son del tipo: x23 x25 x30, x301
x320, x80. Entonces me da este error:
Error in eval(predvars, data, env) : object 'pot24' not found. Debido a que
pot24 no existe, ya que de pot23 se brinca a pot30.
En Stata es algo muy simple de hacer, solo tengo que especificar gl
indepvars "x23-x80" y ya. En R no logro hacerlo.

I assume that these are Unicode escapes!? (Given that Encoding(x) shows
"latin1" I'd rather expect latin1/cp1252 escapes here, but these would be
e.g. "\x80", right? My locale is LC_COLLATE=German_Germany.1252 btw.)
Now I don't know why print tries to convert to Unicode, but if these indeed
are Unicode escapes, then there is something wrong with the conversion from
cp1252 to Unicode.
In general, most cp1252 char codes translate to Unicode like...

How we got rid of a bus error when using acts_as_ferret
...tried to zero in, first by removing the :analyzer part, and the

using:

Where GENERIC_ANALYSIS_REGEX is
/([a-zA-Z]|[\xc0-\xdf][\x80-\xbf])+|[0-9]+|[\xe0-\xef][\x80-\xbf][\x80-\xbf]/
This is used, a la Jcode, to tokenize both European-language words,

Interestingly, we started to suspect if Mongrel''s development mode is
the culprit. But anyway, we just created the Analyzer beforehand, and
