Samba 4.2.2 AD Server - Winbind CPU 100% Password Expired
I installed a new Linux server for remote user access using Ubuntu 14.04 and x2goserver, authenticating against our existing Samba 4.2.2 AD server. All was working beautifully for a couple of days, with myself and one other user. Then the other user's AD password expired, after which when they attempted to log in winbindd spiralled out of control. Ended up with several 100% CPU...

Problems with x2go
I have installed x2goserver on a Centos8 server. Yesterday, after the installation I was able to connect by means of x2go. Today I get the following error ( /var/log/messages) /usr/bin/x2gostartagent[2677]: no free display number available, cannot start new session. Has anyone had the same problem? Thanks. Bye Stefa...

Freenx/x2go on CentOS7?
Can anyone comment on the best remote GUI approach for C7 yet? X2goserver is in epel but when I tried it on the RHEL beta it only worked with a KDE desktop due to the 3d requirement of Gnome3. -- Les Mikesell lesmikesell at gmail.com

Remote Desktop Recommendations (2)
Folks I'm looking for a way to access a GUI desktop on a Centos 7 server from a Windows client. I have tried: - X2go from EPEL (fails immediately, apparently they are working on a solution, but...) - Freenx (doesn't exist for EL7) Both the above work fine with Centos 6. I'm looking for a solution that works over the internet from afar. My earlier posting failed to mention this.

X2go server on Centos7, any success?
...7-1414786247_stDXFCE_dp32" As you can see, this particular run was using Xfce. I would appreciate guidance, and yes, I have read the "manual", and also at least one "howto" specific to Centos 7. The version of the x2go server is [root at goat log]# rpm -qa | grep x2go x2goserver-4.0.1.18-1.el7.x86_64 x2goagent-3.5.0.27-1.el7.x86_64 x2goserver-xsession-4.0.1.18-1.el7.x86_64 [root at goat log]# the X2go client on Win7 works just fine with my Centos6 and Debian servers. I found no way to capture the commentary produced by the X2go client. David

Running graphical applications from CentOS headless vm
Hi all, I have installed a CentOS7 vm in my home server with all graphical tools installed: Gnome, Chrome, Tor Borwser, etc. My idea is to run these graphical applications from two MacOSX desktops. What I am looking for is something similar like Microsoft RDP services that supports copy and paste between client and server, sound, clipboard, etc ... I have seen a possible solution using xrdp:

But exists some other solution?? To connect to remote desktops, you can try x2go (x2goserver from EPEL). I think the client is available for MacOSX. Akemi

It did work out of the box for me, too. If I remember correctly, I installed x2goserver on a CentOS 6.6 system and then updated it to 6.7. The errors you posted were from the client. Assuming you can ssh into the remote machine without a problem, do you see error messages there on the server? Akemi
