'a' extension
Is there any way to see the called number when a call gets redirected to the 'a' extension from voicemail? Say x123 calls x456 and it rolls to voicemail. x123 hits * and gets dumped into the 'a' extension in the original context. I need some logic in 'a' to do a database lookup based on the original called number (x456). Any ideas? When I do a test, it appears that the called number is ...

data manipulation
Dear All, I would be grateful if you can help me. My problem is the following: I have a data set like: ID time X1 X2 1 1 x111 x211 1 2 x112 x212 2 1 x121 x221 2 2 x122 x222 2 3 x123 x223 where X1 and X2 are 2 covariates and "time" is the time of observation and ID indicates the cluster. I want to merge the above data by creating a new variable "X" and "type" as follows: ID time X type 1 1 x111 X1 1...

sip.conf best practices?
...mplete, there will be about 100 SIP devices authenticating and routing calls through this server. The question is what to use for the username portion of the SIP account. Part of me says that I should standardize on using each phone's MAC address as the sip account UID, like so: ; Joe Smith, x123 [000E08DA0409] secret = blahblah ... and so on and so forth Doing it that way is nice for standardization's sake, but it makes the dialplan quite a bit more complex. The obvious alternative is to use the extension as the sip UID: ; Joe Smith, x123 [123] secret = blahblah ... This makes the...

Syntactically valid names
Hi all, Is there any easy way to tell if a string is a syntactically valid name? e.g. is.syntactic("X123") # TRUE is.syntactic("[[") # FALSE One implementation would be: is.syntactic <- function(x) x == make.names(x) but I wonder if there's a more elegant way. Accessing examplars in apcluster (apcluster package)
Hi, I was wondering how it was possible to access the actual cluster exemplars from the APResult class. Currently it only spits it out onto the terminal if you type the object but there is no other way to see which one is the examplar. Would appreciate any help. Thanks, Sachin [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

[Best Practices] phone numbers??
I''ve seen phone numbers handled many different ways. Is there a recommended Rails way to store, format and display phone numbers? I''d appreciate comments from the community on this. 1. Is it better to store phone number as a 10-digit string? Then format it as desired when displaying it? 2. or, is it better to store with formatting, ie. "(222) 111-2222" ? 3. Is
