I suspect that even if we could get past the installer error, the app still wouldn't work properly--it seems like something that probably relies on Windows hardware drivers, which wouldn't work in Wine. I did, however, stumble across the X10 Community Forum at http://www.x10community.com/forums/index.php , which has a section for Linux. You might want to ask there about setting up your system--there seem to be native Linux apps to control at least some models of X10 hardware.
