Drawing ticks in the 3rd and 4th row of a lattice
Dear all, I want to draw ticks on the 3rd and 4th row of a lattice. How do I do this ? In my search of the help, I discovered a parameter alternating, which kind of says where the ticks will be but does not suffice for me. I am running this command : - barchart(X03/1000~time|Company, data=df1[which(df1$time!=1),], horiz=F, scales=list(x=list(rot=45,labels=paste("Mar",c("07","08","09","10","11")))) ,par.strip.text=list(lineheight=1,lines=2,cex=.75), ylab = "In...

recode data according to quantile breaks
Dear R-List, I would like to recode my data according to quantile breaks, i.e. all data within the range of 0%-25% should get a 1, >25%-50% a 2 etc. Is there a nice way to do this with all columns in a dataframe. e.g. df<- f<-data.frame(id=c("x01","x02","x03","x04","x05","x06"),a=c(1,2,3,4,5,6),b=c(2,4,6,8,10,12),c=c(1,3,9,12,15,18)) df    id        a      b      c 1 x01     1      2      1 2 x02     2      4      3 3 x03     3      6      9 4 x04     4      8     12 5 x05     5     10     15 6 x06     6     12     1...

Dir.mkdir(from) unless File.exists?(from) Dir.create_junction(to, from) It works, but my explorer (and dos) window shows the name garbled. I don''t think it''s a font

embeded R application on Windows prints broken character.
The issue was reported to me for?https://github.com/randy3k/rtichoke/issues/50 which is a python program which embeds R and provides a interface to R. With R 3.5,?for reason which i don't understand, when I typed `"a"` in the console STDOUT got `"\x02\xff\xfea\x03\xff\xfe"`?with the extra escaped characters. I notice that `\x02\xff\xfe` and `\x03\xff\xfe` are encoding related byte marks. A clear solution is to filter the escaped characters, but I want to understand what changes are causing it happens. It didn?t happen for R 3.4. Randy [[alternati...

ordering and plotting question
Hi, I am trying to plot several rows out of a list of thousands. I have 40 columns, and about 16,000 rows with the following Df structure. ID X01 X02 X03..X40 AI456 45 64 23... AI943 14 3 45 .. AI278 78 12 68.. BW768 -2 -7 34.. ... My question is, I have a list of 100 IDs generated elsewhere (Df-"Ofinterest"), I would like to plot the 100 IDs from that data frame over the 40 columns (40 points per ID, with each column being 1 x value)....
