[LLVMdev] 2008-01-25-ByValReadNone.c Failure
Hi all,
I'm seeing this failure on my PPC G4 box running TOT with llvm-gcc
4.2. Is anyone else seeing this? I'm sure it's related to the byval
stuff that's recently gone into LLVM. I'm attaching the output of
this command:
$ llvm-gcc -emit-llvm -O3 -S -o - -emit-llvm /Users/wendling/llvm/

libxl drivers for libvirt?
Hey Jim,
I was wondering if you or someone on your team could give me an idea
what the status of libxl support is in libvirt, particularly wrt
various releases?
I''m asking because I''m going to UDS next week to talk about the 13.04
release, and it would be good to get Xen 4.2 in; but that in part
depends on whether there will be libvirt support for 4.2 in whatever
version of libvi...

netem bug?
...ing another machine and adding delay with
netem. When I tell netem to give me a 10ms delay, it works fine. The
problem is that when I ask for a 11ms delay, it gives me 20ms! It
happens for any value between 11ms an 20ms, and it repeats for values
over 20ms, now rounding up to 30ms.
Here is an example:
# ping x.x.x.x
PING x.x.x.x (x.x.x.x) 56(84) bytes of data.

samba not using nearest ADS server
Hello,
we integrated an samba v3.2.8 into a bigger ADS environment which is
connected via MPLS world wide. Everything works as expected, but the login
via SSH is slow:
After entering the login name in ssh we can see via tcpdump network
traffic to different ADS controllers:

Call drop weirdness
...ere is a bit of
artifacting which takes place just prior to the drop, but mostly
nothing: it just drops.
I've checked and rechecked firewall settings. Bandwidth consumption on
the Inet link varies, but the dropped audio happens even on off-peak
times.
I'm considering giving the Asterisk box a public IP on one IF and
bypassing the FW to rule out NAT weirdness.
Any thoughts on things to look at would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Chris

patterns of missing data: determining monotonicity
...t
vaguely reminds me of something
I've seen before, but can't place. Can anyone help?
For multiple imputation, there are simpler methods available if the
patterns of missing data are 'monotone' ---
if Vj is missing then all variables Vk, k>j are also missing, vs. more
complex methods required when the patterns are not monotone. The
problem is to determine if, for a collection of variables, there is an
ordering of them with a monotone
missing data pattern, or, if not, what the longest monotone sequence is.
Here is an example, where in a dataset of 65 observations, th...

how to see what's wrong with a self written function?
Hi all,
I am writing a simple function to implement regularfalsi (secant) method.

regulafalsi=function(f,x0,x1){
x=c()
x[1]=x1
i=1
while ( f(x[i])!=0 ) {

x[2]=x[1]-f(x[1])*(x[1]-x0)/(f(x[1])-f(x0))
} else {
x[i]=x[i-1]-f(x[i-1])*(x[i-1]-x[i-2])/(f(x[i-1])-f(x[i-2]))
}
}
x[i]
}

These work fine,

Optim: Function definition
Hi all,
I apply "optim" to the function "obj", which minimizes the goodness of
fit statistic and obtains Pearson minimum chi-squared estimate for x[1],
x[2] and x[3]. The vector "fr" contains the four observed frequencies.
Since "fr[i]" appears in the denominator, I would like to substitute "0"
in the sum if fr[i]=0.
I tried an "ifelse" condition which works, but in some cases the
solution seems rat...
