Two-way Anova
Hello, I'm trying to do a comparsion on a large scale say 10L bottle of liquid and a small scale bottle of liquid 0.5L, I have 5 different samples from each and they are measured over the space of 8 days as % viability and the % viability decreases over time. However not all 10 samples got measured every day. How would I do a two-way anova on this in R? Thanks for any help. Regards, Al

...ng the two goals together because I can't figure out how to get the group information to be properly passed to the custom panel function above. I suspect I may be going about this entirely the wrong way - I've been using R for all of 4 hours... Help appreciated. Russell -- Russell Wyeth Biology, St Francis Xavier University P.O. complex tangent (PR#7781)
Full_Name: Peter Fortini Version: 2.0.1 OS: Windows 2000 Submission from: (NULL) (65.246.187.164) When the imaginary part of the argument is very large, the complex tangent function returns 0+NaNi. For example, tan(1+1000i)=0+NaNi; it should be 0+1i Easy to fix in complex.c, as the original NaN came from division of sinh and cosh that had reached machine infinity. static void z_tan(Rcomplex

data frame filtration
Hi, R-help: I am a new user of R and am very pleased with R's features. Here I have one question regarding data frame manipulation. I have a data frame look like this: Fruit Condition 1 Orange Good 2 Orange Bad 3 Orange Good 4 Orange Good 5 Orange Bad 6 Apple Good 7 Apple Bad 8 Apple Good 9 Apple Good 10 Apple Bad 11 Apple Good 12 Apple Bad 13

pattern search
hi, I like to find a pattern within a giver sequence. There might be multiple occurences of the pattern. I like to know the number of occurences and the positions if possible. "grep" can tell me if a pattern exists but can't give me the information I need. Does anyone know any function that I can use or know how to do what I intend?. Thanks a lot. Sean

discrepancy between R and Splus lm.influence() functions for family=Gamma(link=identity)
Hello, I am looking for an explanation and/or fix for a discrepancy in the behaviour of the R lm.influence() function [ version R 1.5.0 (2002-04-29) ] and the same function in Splus [ Splus version 5.1 release 1, running on SGI IRIX 6.2]. The discrepancy is of concern because I am migrating some Splus scripts to R and need to ensure consistency of results. Specifically, when I fit a glm()

wireframe - different axes on each panel
Hi, I would like to create wireframe plots conditional on 2 variables and use different limits for the 3-axes in each plot. I thought I could do this with subscripts and the panel.wireframe but I haven't been successful. I am getting this error "...multiple actual arguments..." so I definitely don't have something set up correctly. Listed below is the code to generate the

Mixed Models
Hello, I've run a Proc Mixed function on a set of data in SAS. The data was a result of an experiment that measured % viability over time and I wanted to compare a Large sample lets say 50L to a small sample say 5L. And compare the % viability between the 2 sizes to see if I get the same answer there are 8 samples of each size and the same 8 samples are tested every day over 10 days (day 0

questions about nls
Dear R users, I am new in R and I want to use the nls package to analyze some experimental data. The data is in the attached file "data". It is the response "Sav" measured at different "C0". Basically, the "C0" is a function of C1, K2, and r, and the "Sav" is a function of C0, C1, K2, and r. The math equations are shown in the attached
