Indexing Elements of a Dataframe
Hello List-Members,
Let's say that I have the following code:
for (i in c(10, 20, 30)) {
for (j in c(200, 400, 600)) {

...
x <- "something"
* (code here)
}
}
* Now, x is some result that I want to put into a results "matrix" that
looks like this:

SHA256 password patch
Hi,
I made a patch against branch-1.0 for SHA256 password hashing support
for Dovecot.
Courier Authlib supports this hashing scheme and in order to migrate
from Courier to Dovecot, I've added SHA256 support to Dovecot.
The attached patch is based on BSD licensed code from Olivier Gay
(http://www.ouah.org/ogay/sha2/).
Changes made by me in Olivier's sha2{.h,.c} code:

I have written the following code listed below; however, when run the glm I get the following message, "Error in model.frame.default(formula = Count ~ MP + wd + wv, drop.unused.levels = TRUE) : variable lengths differ (found for 'MP')". This may be something simple, if so I apologize. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

plotting two variables with a third used for color
I have a problem where I have two columns of data that I can simply plot using:
plot(wV[0:15,3],wY[0:15,3]).
This produces my desired plot.
Now, say I have a third variable that I would like to introduce and use that variable to set different colors in the plot
In this case, say I wanted values greater than 0 to be "blue" and values less than 0 to be "red"

test vectors for OggVorbis encoder
Hi,
We are working on Oggvorbis encoder porting on embedded platform. Where
can we find good test vectors (wav files) for testing OggVorbis encoder?
Does anybody have any idea.

OT dovecot w/postfix, mysql , postfix does unnecessary lookups
I know this unnecessary lookups question is really a postfix one, but
I'm curious if anyone else sees the behaviour of
postfix continuing looking up users after it clearly have got its answer
that it is "not a local domain" response.
(this msg is an extract from what I sent to WV some time ago, with him
showing absolutely no interest, I got bored tonight so thought I'd throw
it on this list since the question remains valid today)

antiword
Hi guys,
I've been noticing more and more that antiword has trouble with many
word documents.
It may look like it's converted a document but leaves out headings and
bits of text.
I've been looking into getting openoffice to do it in headless mode but
still have a way to go before it's stable.
I was wondering if anyone else had any luck on this front?
One quick fix I have found

Loop
Hi all,
Assume the following function that generate a random number.
z1<-function (n, eta)
{
wv <- runif(n)
wz <- (-1/eta) * log(wv)
wz
}
y <- z1(100,4)
mean(y)
I want to run this function say 1000 times and I want to count if
the mean(y) outside the following range 0.20 to 0.30.
How do I do it in R?
Thanks in advance

acts_as_ferret and searching word docs
I was wondering if it is possible to search word documents using ferret.
The actual text in a word document isn''t in a binary format - only the
formatting. Surely it would be possible to parse that?

JDataFrame API
...e converted into a data frame in R.
Here's the project page:
https://coherentlogic.com/middleware-development/jdataframe/
and here's a partial example which demonstrates what the API looks like:
String result = new JDataFrameBuilder()
.addColumn("Code", new Object[] {"WV", "VA", })
.addColumn("Description", new Object[] {"West Virginia", "Virginia"})
.toJson();
and in R script we would need to do this:
temp <- RJSONIO::fromJSON(json)
tempDF <- as.data.frame(temp)

converting .doc to html
Anyone got a preferred program or package for this? I'd like a *good* one,
and Word or OO.o's save as html in no way qualifies as other than amateur
crap.
So far, with a little googling, I've found the wv package. wvHtml works,
but I don't like the output - it insists on <div>, and on &rhquo instead
of plain, simple ".

[RFC PATCH 00/19] vhost-user-rpmb (Replay Protected Memory Block)
Hi,
This is an initial implementation of a vhost-user backend for the
VirtIO RPMB device. The device is currently in the draft of the next
VirtIO specification and describes block device which uses combination
of a key, nonce, hashing and a persistent write counter to prevent
replay attacks (hence Replay Protected Memory Block).
It is implemented as a vhost-user device because we want to
