Permission of spool directory
Hello,
My samba is working but.......
I can share files and printers. Although printing is only possible after I
set the permission of the spool dir as follows:
chmod -R -g=wrx /var/spool/samba
After that printing from clients is possible
when restarting lpd it say's:
permissions of 'file name' are 0755 not 600 and it is changed accordingly
Then printing from a client is not possible
What has to be changed to set is right?
It must be something simple

Create a share - permissions
Hi
I am having problems with permissions when creating a share on a Linux
Server. The permissions changes every time from:
drwxr-wxr-wxr to drwxr-xr-x (chmod 777 or chmod a+wrx)
I can access the share, but I cannot create new files, copy etc.

Hi guys,
I've got a problem where if I set permissions on a folder(Admin)

user::rwx
user:samba:rwx

Problem with permisions (to ONE share with MANY folders within).
...e and some people
permision to readonly.
share:
\\samba\SYS
with:
drwxrwx--- root aplication1 aplication1
drwxrwx--- root aplication2 aplication2
drwxrwx--- root aplication3 aplication3
I have tree groups one for each folder in share (SYS) people within this
groups have rights to WRX, how to make group with rights 750 ( rwxr-x--- ).
I can't make folder to be readable for all ( rwxrwxr-x ).
Doing more shares each for one aplication isn't good idea for me. ( maybe is
posible to mask permision to folder by create new share, or create symlink
with other rights (but this is...

no profiles add/saved in samba PDC
...s up the client is unable to use/load the serverbased profile and instead it's using a local temporaly profile.
On the samba site it shows up the folder in the profiles-folder for the user I logged in but there is no profile-file.
I changed all read/write rights so everybody can write and read (wrx) but nothing happen.
thanks

best rsync for use with windows (client) and long file names
...rtion
of it. So I was then testing with a newer version of cygwin (1.7 beta)
as the long file name issue was resolved.
In testing that with some large files (PST in this case), rsync seems
to take over the whole file, and not just the differences.
my command i used was:
rsync -av --chmod u+wrx "/cygdrive/c//Documents and Settings/User/
Desktop" "/cygdrive/z/clients/User
This was just a local sync.
Curious what ppeople are using for rsync on Windows with long file
name support.
And also curious as to why rsync wuld pull over the whole PST file
again.
Thanks!

Profile permissions issue? Samba and FDS problem
.... The users are members of the "Domain
Users" group with has sid 513 and maps to the unix group 2513 also "Domain
Users". The Domain Users group is under the users group on the windows
clients. Profile folder permissions are set to username:"Domain Users" and
they have wrx priveleges. Of course if the user is set to a local
administrator on the machine none of these problems arise. I have even tried
explicitely adding a single user to the users group in windows and still the
problem occurs. I've looked in gpedit.msc and have been unable to locate
anything to poin...

"return" function
I tried to write a function like this
f1 <- function(){
if (condition 1) return
if (condition 2) return
...
if (condition 3) return
do more work
}
Where I am using return to exit the function prematurely when I detect
conditions that warrant it. Return doesn't seem to work this way.
How should I do this?
