Lost writes upon disk power failure
Hi,
I'm encountering a strange situation.
I'm writing to an ext3 filesystem mounted like this:
/dev/scsi/host2/bus0/target0/lun0/part3 on /tmp/volumes/md0 type ext3 (rw,noatime,data=ordered)
with the physical device being a FC-connected RAID (IBM DF4000)
no software raid personality is used
I'm using 2.4.18-19.7
My test program writes files in a loop, with the essential system

Accidentally issued "mkswap" on ext3 fs -- recovery possible?
Hi,
I accidentally issued "mkswap" on a used ext3 fs partition (~30G) :-/
I have analyzed the behaviour of mkswap using two test files and it
appears to only change "some" bytes:

NTLMv2 - wrong password with samba?
I have samba 3.0.14-5 installed (installed via Fedora Core 4's Yum)
I have enabled "client NTLMv2 auth = yes" in smb.conf
When I run "ntlm_auth --username=user --domain=MYDOM" it connects fine
(change user and MYDOM to be my user and my domain)
When I run "ntlm_auth --username=user --domain=MYDOM --diagnostics" it
fails on all tests with "wrong password"

codec problems between * and cisco hardware h323
Hi all,
we use * as a voip gateway using h323 (chan_h323).
We purchased the g729 codec from digium for 10 channels.
But, if comes in a call from a cisco gatway or something similar, there're
problems with the codecs.
If such a call comes in following error occures :

Assertions for asynchronous behaviour
Hi all,
In GOOS[1] they use an assertion called assertEventually which samples the system for a success state until a certain timeout has elapsed. This allows you to synchronise the tests with asynchronous code.
Do we have an equivalent of that in the Ruby / RSpec world already? I know capybara has wait_until { } but that''s fairly rudimentary - the failure message isn''t very

Proposal for Mach-O support in llvm-objcopy: section renaming
Hi,
I'm going to implement Mach-O support in llvm-objcopy. Before working
on this, I'd like to hear your thoughts how llvm-objcopy should handle
Mach-O section names.
By convention, Mach-O section names are denoted by "<segment
name>,<section name>". However, GNU objcopy renames them in the
following rule [1]:
- If the section name is well-known, rename it to an

gpupdate use wrong url
There's nothing wrong with that path. If your DNS is working, you should
be able to connect to \\foo, which is your AD domain.
It will just pick one of your DCs instead of a static one.

winbind question. (challenge/response password authentication)
Hai,
Im setting up a new proxy and im testing a bit around.
Goal is, get everyting working with minimal changes to the system.
Setup: Debian 8 with NFS nfsv3 and v4 (krb) automounts, winbind 4.5.3 , squid 3.5.24 (with ssl support)
Which is basicly a copy of my other proxy but a new install with more systemd and less packages used.
Working:
- ssh logins with AD users.

OT: UPS battery vendor
Hi, folks.
I need some new replacement batteries for rack-mount APC UPSes. My old
vender... well, the salesman I dealt with for several years left about a
year and a half ago, and last year's purchase was a disaster (wrong
batteries, wrong batteries, months to get the shipping to return the wrong
batteries...), so I'm looking for a new, reliable vendor who does US
government contract

scoping goes wrong when some functions are used within others.
Dear,
I'm following the r tag on stackoverflow.com, and couldn't but notice
there are quite some questions popping up that deal with scoping in
relation to custom functions. I grinded my teeth on it already, and I
have absolutely no clue what goes wrong. The general pattern is as
follows :
ff <- function(x){
y <- some_value
some_function(y)
}
> ff(x)
