Duplicate filename with Samba 3.0.28
Hello,
I'm having an odd problem that I can't find a resolution to.
I have a Freebsd 6.2 server with recently upgrade samba software (from
3.0.26a) and an WinXP client. There's a single file:
1015280 -rw-r--r-- 1 userid staff 991M Jan 7 09:13 fbsdusb.img
shared from \\server\tmp, that appears twice when browsed from WinXP.
If I rename it (i.e. fbsdUSB.img or fbsdusb.iso) or

Upgrading Samba 3 to Samba 4 - Domain Controller unreachable
OK, this is working with the Windows 7 clients now. Looks like it was just
a reboot. Now I have an issue with the Windows 10 clients... I'll open a
new thread about that...

“Failed to find a writeable DC for domain” joining to win2k3 AD DC
I have a CentOS 6.4 box with SerNet's Samba 4.0.8 installed and no
smb.conf file yet, as it should be. I want it to become an AD DC in my
existing Windows domain, replicating from the existing Windows Server
2003 box. I have SELinux enabled and want it to stay that way.
I'm getting this error trying to run samba-tool:
$ sudo samba-tool domain join currentwindowsadserver.mydomain.lan

Troubles getting samba4 working (from samba 3)
Our current environment is Samba 3 with an LDAP backend. I want to move to
Samba 4 with an AD backend. We already have the AD servers in place and
Samba 3 servers are using AD absolutely perfectly. The last remaining piece
is to move Samba 3->4.
My existing Samba 3 configuration looks like this:
[global]
server string = 1220 Boothost Server
netbios name = BOOTHOST-1220

AIX, Samba and ADS issue
I?m trying to get an AIX + samba + ADS system working properly. The samba
server is a domain member and I can use the wbinfo ?u and wbinfo ?g
commands with no problem. We?re running pware64 version 3.5.11 on AIX 6.1.
I need to know if as a group member of the ADS, do I still need to do a
net groupmap to map ADS groups to AIX groups or does this happen
automatically with this version of samba?

Bizarre problems with two Samba in the same workgroup
I had to setup a new Samba server as a PDC in my job (Samba 3.0) to replace
and existing Samba server PDC (Samba 2.2), the old server was running ldap
as backend, the new is running tdbsam. I have a lot of bizarre problems when
I put both in the same workgroup with other machines. I will give you a list
of them:
1) The new server is configured as local master browser and domain master
browser,
