3.0.2 AFS login problem, Solaris 2.5.1
...e suggestions that we're running an out-of-date kaserver. I am not the cell admin. I want 3.0.2 to work on AFS the way 1.2.21 did. I tried a naive patch to 3.0.2 to use ka_UserAuthenticateGeneral and I couldn't even get it to link; usually I eventually figure out an order of all those wretched AFS libraries that works but not this time. Why doesn't 3.0.2 call ka_UserAuthenticateGeneral? Is there a patch to make it do so? -- Peter Scott Peter.J.Scott at jpl.nasa.gov

Redirect\Cookie bug with MSIE 5.5sp2
...details and try again." @login = @params[:user_login] end end end And it works fine with all browsers but MSIE 5.5sp2 where the user IS logged in but on arrival at the redirect page the session is lost. You can see this bug in action if you try to use the wretched browser to log into a tadalist (for example). Can anyone suggest a work around to allow 5.5 users to keep workable sessions with a Rails app? Thanks, Gavin

Compile help for Solaris 10 x86, samba 3.0.28a deficient?
Hi all, I've got an ongoing battle with samba shipped with Sun Solaris 10 in it's current form (Samba version 3.0.28a) not wanting to talk to my OpenLDAP master correctly. Essentially, under certain conditions, this behaviour is observed, in the log.smbd: [2008/10/11 08:54:03, 1, pid=13610] libsmb/cliconnect.c:(1451) Error connecting to 192.168.117.150 (Connection refused)

New user's naive question
I have installed Mandrake 8.1 and chose ext3 for my main partitions (other than root). However, stupidly, I cannot now remember whether I specified ext3 for some other partitions that I haven't yet mounted (these are essentially just spare capacity, though they may have some files on them if they weren't formatted). Is there a simple way of telling whether I should mount these as

last login user tracking
Hello, I'm trying to get last login user tracking going, using Dovecot and mysql. I'm using: https://docs.iredmail.org/track.user.last.login.html and it is working, I am seeing an entry and it is updated, the problem is the last login value does not mean anything to me. I was wondering if it's possible to have the value be of a last login date and time, and also a remote ip would be

maybe a bug in the system.time() function? (PR#10696)
Full_Name: Alessandra Iacobucci Version: 2.5.1 OS: Mac OS X 10.4.11 Submission from: (NULL) (193.48.71.92) Hi, I am making some intensive simulations for the testing of a Population Monte Carlo algorithm. This involves also a study of the CPU times in two different case. What I am trying to measure is the "real" CPU time, the one which is independent on the %CPU. I'm using the

vnc - single application or a "remote localhost" on Firefox
Normally I use VNC-over-SSH to provide a complete desktop to a remote user. Is there a way to provide a single application to a user instead of a complete desktop? In this case I am looking for a method to provide remote report-viewing access to LedgerSMB for a company's outside accountant. LedgerSMB runs through a web browser (i.e. http://localhost/ledgersmb) so he doesn't need or want

Trimming the fat out of a Centos 4.4 Installation
Hi, just to avoid re-inventing the wheel, is there any document that can help me reduce even further a "minimum" installation of Centos 4.4 (BTW can you say 600mb is minimum)? I am in the process of creating a small Centos-4.4-based Asterisk box and I need to boot it from a CF card. Deleting useless packages will help me do what i want. Example: even a minimum install of Centos 4.4 (or

Darned thing is suddenly failing. We had a reboot last night, and I changed a couple of files today too, so either one could somehow be responsible. But I can''t figure out how from this crash. First I noticed that my changes weren''t updating. Then I noticed that puppet wasn''t running. Then I found that it won''t, in fact, run. /selinux contains only a

C vs. C++ as learning and development tool for R
I have 3 years of experience with R and have an interest in becoming a better programmer so that I might someday be able to contribute packages. Other than R, my only experience was taking Lisp from Daniel Friedman in the 1970's. I would like to learn either C or C++ for several reasons: To gain a better concept of object oriented programming so that I can begin to use S4 methods in R. To

How to delete only those rows in a dataframe in which all records are missing
Hi, Imagine I have the following data frame: > a <- c(1,NA,3) > b <- c(2,NA,NA) > c <- data.frame(cbind(a,b)) > c a b 1 1 2 2 NA NA 3 3 NA I want to delete the second row. If I use na.omit, that would also affect the third row. I tried to use a loop and an ifelse clause with is.na to get R identify that row in which all records are missing, as opposed to the first
