Hivex bug? Cannot access Windows 2003 x64 Software\Classes key
I tried both hivex-1.2.5 and hivex-1.2.7, same result. The same software hive can be loaded using Windows regedit tool, and had no problem to access the "Classes" key. The other keys under Software (like Microsoft, Wow6432Node, etc.) are OK. Here is the hivexsh output with HIVEX_DEBUG=1 enabled: ======================================================================================================== hivex_open: successfully read Windows Registry hive file: pages: 5779 [sml: 4096, lge: 16384] blocks:...

Strange install key for R
One user of my batchfiles http://batchfiles.googlecode.com found they did not find the R registry key because it mysteriously was at hklm\software\wow6432Node. The system was a 64 bit system. I've always seen the key at hklm\software\R-core\R which is what the batchfiles assume. Has there been some change in where the installer puts the key or are there situations in which the location of the key in the registry is somehow changed? (Note that the...

Samba 3.2 and Windows 10
Hi, in a small office an old server is running Samba 3.2.15 on Debian Lenny. It is used for domain authentication and file sharing, and all Windows clients - currently up to Windows 7 - work perfectly fine with that. Now my question, to which I cannot easily find an answer on Google, is: if a client is upgraded to Windows 10, will it still work with that old Samba version? A server upgrade is

[LLVMdev] size_t?
We inject a typedef for size_t here: http://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project/cfe/trunk/lib/Sema/Sema.cpp?revision=218230&view=markup#l206 The typedef type is determined by calling getSizeType(). SizeType is (relevantly) calculated in two places: X86_64 http://llvm.org/viewvc/llvm-project/cfe/trunk/lib/Basic/Targets.cpp?revision=218666&view=markup#l3512 X86_32

[PATCH 0/4] Add hivex APIs into the libguestfs API (RHBZ#852394)
This adds most of the hivex APIs directly to the libguestfs API, so that you can read and write Windows Registry hive files from libguestfs without needing to download and upload hive files from the guest. This is analogous to how Augeas APIs are exposed already (guestfs_aug_*) Also, inspection is now done using the new APIs, which fixes the following bug:
