interrupted plots
Hello, I'm trying to plot simple data containing numbers/year. I use plot(numbers~year, type="l"), but the problem is that there is no data for several years. S I would like the line to be interrupted for the period without data, and then continue afterwards. How can I do this ? Also, I've been using par(new=TRUE) to put two curves (same years, different numbers) on the same

Win95, sharing printers and drives
I have two computers ROLAND (RedHat 5.2 and Samba) and LINDA (Windows95). I am already able to print on the printer connacted to LINDA. Yesterday, before I managed to get the printer working, I was alos able to see ROLAND's directory 'tmp' and 'winD' on LINDA. The problem that I saw this morning was that the printing still works but LINDA can no longer see the shares of

Assistance with data import from Statistica
I am a new R user attempting to convert files from Statistica to R. I can export from Statistica to SPSS .por format, but not to the SPSS .sav format. Is there a procedure for easily accomplishing this, which will allow me to keep variable short and long labels (big surveys LOTS of time to replace all this work). Many thanks for sharing your time and knowledge. steve Dr Steven M Burgess

finding centroids of clusters created with hclust
Hello, Can someone point me to documentation or ideas on how to calculate the centroids of clusters identified with hclust ? I would like to be able to chose the number of clusters (in the style of cutree) and then get the centroids of these clusters. This seems like a quite obvious task to me, but I haven't been able to put my hands on a relevant command. Thank you, Moritz

MailSlots compatibility ??
Hello ! I am trying to make "Realpopup" (a winpopup like under windows) able to send messages to a Linux machine. The problem is that "Realpopup" sends messages using the MailSlots protocol only. libvirt 1.19: could not open drive file (permission denied)
Hi, With libvrit 1.18 all is working fine: I can open my win7 VM on Archlinux without problem. But I cannot use it with libvirt 1.19: it could not open drive file (permission denied). In /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf, I have: - user: root - group: root And the drive file has root:root as owner. Why this configuration is running with libvirt 1.18 and not with libvirt 1.19 ? Many thanks for
