Service Winbind stopped, what could be the reason ?
...always remained started.
In winbindd.log, there are many entries like :
[2020/04/27 08:20:14.167335, 1] ../source3/lib/util.c:1700(name_to_fqdn)
getaddrinfo: ?chec temporaire dans la r?solution du nom
On my Centos 7 samba server, the DNS resolution works only for fulled qualified name :
ping workstation1
ping: workstation1 : ?chec temporaire dans la r?solution du nom
but
ping workstation1.mydomain.fr
64 bytes from workstation1!.mydomain.fr (10.9.x.x): icmp_seq=1 ttl=127 time=1.58 ms
64 bytes from workstation1!.mydomain.fr (10.9.x.x): icmp_seq=2 ttl=127 time=1.33 ms
64 bytes from workstation1!...

smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(648) in logs
good morning all,
i have a fc2 server running samba 3.0.10-1.
from my daily logwatch i get these type of entries:
smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(648) workstation1 (10.19.1.2) connect
to service share1 initially as user user1 (uid=802, gid=512) (pid 28851) : 5
Time(s)
on all shares that user1 connects to, i get the same message identifying the
share (share2, share3, etc...) with same pid number.
the same thing happens with user2 with a different pid number....

Trust relationship failed...
...lem
But, the following items no longer work...
- In XP if I go to entire network and try to view the computers in the
domain, only the server shows up... none of the 5 workstations show up in
the domain as previously.
- Can no longer access printers shared on the workstations
- If I try to enter \\workstation1\data (or any of the valid, pre-existing,
previously working shares on any of the workstations) from any of the 5
workstations, either via start | run, or via the address bar in My Computer
I get an error that states "Trust relationship between this workstation and
primary domain failed"....

UNIX accounts needed for machine accounts?
Hi,
I have the following problem: My structure is stored in LDAP that way:

+ ou=users
+ ou=int
