Number of SIP messages per minute
Hi all, I've just been told from an ex workmate that my VSP (who I used to work for) has put an anti flooding limit of 80 SIP messages per IP per minute in place. I run the phone system for a facility that has a lot of extensions, but would rarely have more than 4 or 5 simultaneous external calls. Am I in danger of tripping over this limit...

Is there a console tool to monitor&control&log&notify the print queue information?
...nformation to database, especially the 'Pages' and 'Owner' info of a job, so that I get a total Pages/Papers consumed in a month. CUPS can't provide a correct Pages value if job comes from Samba. 4. Notify the Owner when the job is finished via windows messenger mechanism. Many workmates(especially workmates from HR department) often print documents which have hundreds of pages. Their office is 30+ meters far from the printer, they rarely watch the print queue in their windows workstation, and watching a 'hundreds of pages' print job is boring. So, if owner can be notifie...

MultiLine Sip Phones
Sorry Newbie asking everyones option. I am setting up a couple of small asterisk phone systems for my work, I started using some snom 190 and bt102 sip phones (the bt102 works really well with iLBC), but the complaint from my workmates is there is no way to see if other people are on there phone or not, or what lines are being used. The snom 190 only has 5 function keys, the snom 220 seems a bit over the top for simple users. What suggestions do people have on some sip phones that support multiple (6 or more but 10 or more wo...

Windows ACL behaviour in standalone fileservers (LDAP vs TDB)
...which isn't needed on the LDAP backed server. Configuration for both servers from a "result view" looks identical to me: - "net groupmap list" is identical - both use "security = user" and "acl_xattr" I'm obviously not an expert for Windows ACLs, a workmate Windows Admin told me that the second behaviour is what he would expect, still I'm confused. Samba is 4.8.3 on CentOS 7. thx Matthias

Final Fantasy XI occasionally freezes
...vidia/xorg/wine updates, the game occasionally freezes during gameplay. Sometimes it comes back but the most times it freezes for good and i must kill it to restart. I believe its the nvidia 195.x.x driver series and/or xorg 1.7.x because it worked just fine with 190.x and older xorg. I talked to a workmate who also plays the game on linux and the first thing he asked was if i have it installed on a linux software raid. All my games are on a raid0 of 2 hdds, ext4. Is it even possible that raid io lag cause a freeze in wine ? All other games seem to work fine and i can't really downgrade to the ol...

Re: How does the libvirt deal with the vnet mac address
...han just letting libvirt deal with it. Is there some functionality you need that libvirt can't supply?) /**********************************************/ Thanks a lot for your reply! The reason is that only the command scripts can be integrated to the upper layer software which is designed by workmates. I remain puzzled about : "it's important to also know that it is essential the tap device's MAC address be different from the MAC address used by the guest. The reason is that the tap device will not forward a packet to the other side of itself if it sees a destination MAC address...

Three most useful R package
Hi R-fans, I would like put out a question to all R users on this list and hope it will create some feedback and discussion. 1) What are your 3 most useful R package? and 2) What R package do you still miss and why do you think it would make a useful addition? Pulling answers together for these questions will serve as a guide for new users and help people who just want to get a hint where to

ipp2p problems
Hi all, I have found problems in p2p traffic detection. The ipp2p module works fine but in shorewall the rules written for this protocols never match because the initials p2p connection (login) match in ''-m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT'' rule before ''-m ipp2p --ipp2p -j DROP'' rule, so netfilter never filter p2p traffic. I have had to run

OT: Best DB
I know this is a bit off topic but we are using Asterisk :) Since this list is full of tech gurus w/ all different sorts of backgrounds, I thought I would get the best opinions here. We have several different switches and other telecom equipment at our facilities which all have their own proprietary cdr platforms, which are rather limited. The company I work for is looking to develop their
