SVN pre-commit hook
...stupid typos before checking in. However after updating to 0.24.1 I get the following error for the site.pp: Could not parse for environment development: No file(s) found for import of ''classes/*.pp'' at /repository/tmp_svn/7426.pp:4 so it fails on the import statement. I did a workaorund by placing | grep -v site.pp in the script. However it would be nice to test as well site.pp file. Maybe it''s possible to tell the --parseonly to ignore imports or so? thanks and greets pete

kerberos + winbind + AD authentication for samba 4 domain member
...in = yes as a workaround, this way everything works as expected, except that in all docs it's described as not recommended setup, because of possible confusion which user is from DOMAIN and which is local, and of course when multiple domains come into play. So maybe someone knows of a valid workaorund, how to force kinit to automatically remove/strip DOMAIN prefix from e.g. DOMAINmyusername at MY.DOMAIN.COM and change it into myusername at MY.DOMAIN.COM? My understanding is that krb5.conf "auth_to_local" works the other way around, so it takes valid principal, and rewrites it so t...

Problems with bad UDP checksums
...hought was an old problem, show up again.. I noticed it when I let a domU stay on DHCP long enough to try to do a renew, then the DHCP server started logging about checksum errors: dhcpd: 5 bad udp checksums in 5 packets DHCP server is 1:9.6.ESV.R4+dfsg-0+lenny1 so newer DHCP releases may contain workaorunds allowing these packets.. Since I had this problem years ago when I started with Xen I knew what to test and doing ''ethtool -K eth0 tx off'' on the domU fixes the checksumming problem. I see this behavior between domU''s using the same dom0 bridge on the same xen host. An...

ntpd under Xen Dom0 exhibits extremely high jitter/noise? runs stable/quiet under non-xen kernel.
On a selection of boxes, ntpd running in Xen Dom0 reproducibly exhibits extermely high noise/jitter. Switching back to -default, non-xen kernel ntpd runs with very low jitter/noise. Question -- how can I ''tame'' ntpd noise & jitter when running in Dom0? Is the problem a config issue, or a bug? Already reported this downstream; everybody''s "stumped".
