Domain-name appended into username when "selecting users or groups"
Dear all,
I am facing a peculiar situation:
on my smb.conf log level = 5, and on my windows machine I log on as a
local administrator to add remote desktop users that are in fact domain
users.
When my worgroup = SOMETHING, everything works fine. When I change my
worgroup to: workgroup = example.com, and try to add a new remote
desktop user, and set as an object name example.com\user and try

Multiple Samba's on same machine
...ting through docs/lists/Google but no joy. I am sure I saw something about running multiple Samba's on different ports but I want to use different interfaces all on port 139.
So: Can I run multiple s/nmbd's on the same machine?
I have nine main VLANs and somewher in the region of 30 odd worgroups (don't ask !) of which 10 are of interest. 3,500 odd PCs. I have a Linux box with all nine VLANs on it and I can easily add more IP addresses per VLAN using aliasing. It has 18 addresses at the moment.

problem with samba like LMB on windows network
hello,
i have problem with Local Master Browser (LMB) election on our network
and i'd like to ask you for help.
we have setup local network for wireless internet connection sharing. it
uses 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0 range and computers use common workgroup (named
Riadok). there is about 20 computers and 1 server (10.0.0.1) running
