IPv6
Can anyone inform me if voip can be used on a IPv6 network?
Does any hard phones/soft phones/Asterisk support it?
Google told me that there was/is a bounty on it,
but that expired august last year.
Furthermore, there used to be a patch (Bernhard Schmidt), but that one
is about a year old.
I presume it can't be used on recent versions of "*"

samba, winbind, 2k PDC and dynamic home shares?
Hi again all,
First of all, apaologies if this message is replicated on a news server, my new server died on me, so I've moved to supernews and will be posting to the mailman list instead for this.
Anyway, I have a quick question about winbindd and PDC user home shares...
I have gone through all the usual steps for setting up a Samba (2.2.7 /
RedHat 8.0) fileserver, and have a simple,

Dovecot Local Delivery Agent
Hi
I noticed in a post that Timo might start work on a LDA Great! If so,
here is something I would really like included.
Support for PAM
There is quite a lengthy reason behind this. In my organisation, user
accounts are created on ldap. It is up to the services to create home
directories whenever the user first uses them. For instance, Samba will
do this the first time they connect to their

anti-virus
Hello all
Have a small problem. We use Samba as our PDC for a large amount of NT clients. We also use Sophos anti-virus to protect the workstations and servers. The problem basically is that although I can get Sophos to work properly I have to go to the actual workstation to install it from the server. Once I've done this Sophos works fine and automatically updates from the server.

dovecot rpms, .subscriptions file, mbox to maildir
Hi,
I am running dovecot 0.99-14 on a Fedora Core 2 machine. I had a few
questions:
1) I wanted to upgrade to the dovecot-1.0 release. However, I am not
sure if that's really required. dovecot-0.99-14 has been running very
well for me for quite some time. Is there a real advantage to switching
to the latest release. The reason I'm asking this is because:
i) I don't have too

help with interpreting what nnet() output gives:
Greetings list,
I am new to programming in R, and am using nnet() function for a project on
neural networking.
Firstly I wish to ask if there is any pdf explaining the algorithm nnet
uses, which could tell me what the objects of the nnet class, like 'conn',
'nconn, 'nsunits', n and 'nunits' mean, and how weights are calculated.
The package pdf has little or no

fclustindex, e1071 package
Hi,
I'm using e1071 package to do fuzzy cluster analysis. My dataset (ra) has
5237 observations and 2 variables - depth and velocity. I used fuzzy cmeans
to create 6 fuzzy classes.
>ra.flcust6<-cmeans(ra,6,iter.max=100,verbose=F,dist="euclidean",method="cmea
ns",m=1.7,rate.par=NULL,weights=1)
I would like to calculate the value of all the fuzzy validity

Dovecot, Outlook Express and new accounts
I have come across a strange situation, involving new accounts. I am
running Dovecot 0.99.10-5 on Fedora Core 2. Dovecot is configured to use
pam for authentication, and the dovecot pam service is configured to use
pam_mkhomedir.
When an account is created and the user logs in through SquirrelMail,
there is no problem. The standard folders are available - Inbox, Drafts,
Sent Items and Trash.

Assertion failed in buffer.c
dovecot-0.99.10.5-0.FC2
I have had a report from a user that when accessing their inbox, the
connection is suddenly dropped. Dovecot reports the following:-
imap(user): file buffer.c: line 357 (buffer_set_start_pos): assertion
failed: (abs_pos <= I_MIN(buf->used, buf->limit))
From searching the list, I found an indication that it is a problem

SIP/H323 modules for netfilter
Linux does not have it's own sip/h323 modules (ip_conntrack_sip and
ip_conntrack_h323), however I have found these modules available in the
Linksys WRT54GS open source firmware. Would it be legal to use these
modules with another Linux distribution (eg, RedHat, Gentoo, Debian..)?
