Allowing clients to test their Sieve scripts
...e their Sieve scripts, i.e. it often goes like "I don't know whether I just didn't receive any mail, or whether my filters broke. Can you check the logs?".
I then usually just run the sieve-test binary (part of the Pigeonhole distribution) and send them the output. However, I was wondering - is there maybe a way for them to try it themselves? Like, maybe a tiny web server which just prints a form asking for a mail file and a sieve script, and then it runs sieve-script and prints the output of that? I wonder how other people do that.

Binomial simulation
Hi Guy's
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.
dbinom(10,1,0.25)
I am using dbinom(10,1,0.25) to calculate the probabilty of 10 judges
choosing a certain brand x times.
I was wondering how I would go about simulating 1000 trials of each x value
?

httpd: "internal dummy connection"
On my Centos 2.5 web server, in /var/log/httpd/access_log,
I saw several occurrences of:

I have never seen anything like this before over many
years of watching my logs. I presume it failed because

Apache, fastcgi, ruby-on-rails etc.
Hi all,
I've read a bit about fastcgi, and wondered if it might be an
interesting solution for e.g. running php in a user-switched environment
or running ruby-on-rails etc.
But I wonder why nobody (searched on Google) seems to use CentOS with
mod_fastcgi for Apache 2.x.
And I also wonder why people actually using Apache 2.x and ruby-on-rails
with CentOS did run a lighthttpd-fastcgi

effect sizes for Wilcoxon tests
Hello,
I use t.test for normal distributed and wilcox.test for non-normal
distributed samples.
It is easy to write a function for t.test that calculates the effect
size, because all parts of the formula are available from the t.test
result: r = sqrt(t*t / (t*t + df))
However, for Wilcoxon tests, the formula for effect sizes is:
r = Z / sqrt(N)
I wonder how I can calculate the Z-score in R for

Wondering about CentOS 5.1 functionality
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi All,
I'm giving serious thought to loading 5.1 on my Inspiron 1501 laptop,
but I'm wondering about certain hardware support such as the following:
- - Broadcom Wireless Adapter - 1390 Wlan (bcm43xx)
- - USB (Pny Memory Stick - everytime on previous version CentOS has eaten
the damned things)
- - pptp vpn client(s)
Any comments?
thanks,
Mark

ZtDummy vs Hardware
I was wondering what could be pros and cons of ztdummy vs proper timer
device (i.e. X100P).
I am going to set up an asterisk server in europe (to do trunking, to
save bandwith) and I was wondering if it'll be OK to get it going with
ztdummy.
Furthermore, I have only a 1024/256kbps PPPOE DSL link and I ne...

Speex for TI 5509 DSP
I saw a thread in the list archives about a speex port to TI 55x DSP.
Wondering how that worked out (is working out)?
Also wondering if there is a source archive for it,
or if the patch in the email archives is still current, or if there's been
updates.
Any info appreciated.
Thanks

Computing normal conf.intervals
Hi everybody,
I wonder if there is a built-in function similar to Matlab's "normfit"
which computes 95% CI based on the normality assumption.
So, I have a vector of values and I want to calculate 95% normal CI.
Of course, I could write my own function, no problem, but I still
wonder if built-in functionality exists. (I wish quantile() had this
functionality included).
Anyone knows?

respond.should be_successful
I''m wondering: Does it make more sense to add on successful? as an
alias for success? in ActionController:TestRequest?
I keep getting these two mixed up in my specs and was wondering if it
would be helpful to anyone as a small patch to rspec.

question about wonder shaper and htb
Greetings,
My question deals with the htb version of wonder shaper. I used it
for some time without much alteration except I noticed something odd
in the way the rates are set up for the 3 htb classes. The way I
understand it, there are 3 classes:
1:10 - high prio class with rate ${UPLINK}kbit
1:20 - bulk/default class with rate $[9*$UPLINK/10]kbit
1:30 - bulk/default low priority
