...re I CANNOT wake it is when I shutdown the machine from freebsd (halt -p). First I tested with 7.0-RELEASE-p5 amd64 (RELENG_7_0) and than I upgraded to 7.1 PRERELASE amd64 (RELENG_7). With both nics and both freebsd versions the situation is the same - after shutdown from bsd the computer is not able to wake on lan. Some switch hardware can generate the packets directly, negating the need for a box on every VLAN. Meraki hardware can do it, but you have to go through the dashboard so automating it isn't currently possible. Running CentOS 6.4. Hi I have a bunch of Intel systems. Ivy Bridge Q77 chipset with 82579LM nics. I can't seem to wake them up with ether-wake.
