Hello all, I repost this mail with a new subject line because on the original one ("Unable to join domain from WNT4") i've got no respnse. version is 3.0.23d (the same happens with 3.0.21c ) running as a PDC OS: Linux 2.6.11.4-21.14-smp, (from SuSE 9.3) on dual Opterons. After upgrading from 3.0.11 to 3.0.23d, all Windows-NT4-sp6 machines were no longer DOMAIN-members - WinXP or Win2000 members work...

Solaris 8-Samba 222-Winbind Questions
Hi I getting ready to migrate from samba 209 to 222. I'd like to use Windbind to authenticate against a WNT4 PDC. I understand, from reading the docs, how winbind works with respect to users and groups... it basically creates unix accounts using a given uid and gid range. I have a couple of questions... 1. I have existing unix user accounts and group accounts. Will I need to map these accounts to the win...

Hi, sorry if this question has been asked before, I searched the archives and discovered the same question but no replies to it. Basically, I'm trying to transfer large files from a Windows NT4 machine to samba (version 3.0.20b, SuSE 10.0, reiserfs) and after 4GB the file gets filled with zeros. No such corruption occurs when transferring from Windows 2000. Does anyone know whether this

...the share to include the "admin users" parameter like this: [disk1] comment = unused files path =/disk1 read only = No create mask = 0775 directory mask = 0775 case sensitive = No admin users = randy When the user "randy" connects to the share from WNT4 and deletes a file, the file disappears as if deleted, but when the window is refreshed...it reappears! I monitored this operation in unix while the user deleted the file and it never really is deleted from the file system. Anyone have any ideas what might be happening or how I can fix this? Denn...
