Wizardry 8
I have spent the past few hours trying to get Wizardry 8 to run. Well, it mostly works: The installer runs fine. I had to use a crack because otherwise Wizardry complained about a debugger running. I have set it up to use OpenGL graphics at 640x480x16 and "Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio" for sound. The movies get played, video and sound is p...

Wizardry Gold missing wing32.dll
Hello all. Just starting out with Wine and I am having a problem with Wizardry Gold. I got it loaded through Wine and went to start it, but it keeps telling me that the WING32.DLL can't be found. I checked in the system32 folder and it is there. I'm kinda at a loss here. Thanks for your help. John

file "time-to-live"
Hi everyone, There is a way to make files being automatically deleted some time after they have been created? I know that, with some scripting wizardry i could achieve this, but i wanna know if samba has this kind of feature. I have a temp folder that users insist in use like a backup folder, so i want to files to be deleted 24 hours after they have been created. I cannot just delete everything at midnight because this folder is used in full...

Wine problems after OS upgrade - possible causes?
...what happened here and hope that somebody could give me a hint about *possible* causes and help me to get on track investigating the root of the problem. A couple of month ago, I was running Ubuntu 10 (not the LTS version) and I could happily and for the most part without problems play games like Wizardry 8, Fallout, Baldur's Gate and even Morrowind with Wine. (Once my problems started I googled for an error message and found a forum post according to which things just wouldn't work with my graphic card, an Intel 82865G Integrated Graphics Controler. Since things run smoothly once with this...

Mongrel 0.3.13.3 -- Ruby Licensed Release
Hello Everyone, This is the official 0.3.13.3 release of Mongrel. Mongrel is now released under the *Ruby license* instead of the LGPL. I''m hoping this increases the adoption of Mongrel even further and hopefully I can start pushing to get Mongrel included in Ruby directly. INSTALL As usual, you install it with your friendly gem install method of choice: gem install mongrel Or

creating a user from an RPM package
What wizardry do you guys use in the SPEC file when creating/deleting a user from an RPM package? I was going to create a macro like: %define user(login, uid, gid, name, homedir, shell) \ echo "$1:x:$2:$3:$4:$5:$6" >>/etc/passwd; \ echo "$1:!!:12005:0:99999:7:::" >&...

How do I run a .com file through wine?
I've only just installed wine with the specific purpose of playing some of the old Wizardry games. However, these games come as .com files and not as .exe files. Will I be able to play them through wine?

Blank Screen
Hello - newbie here. Please be kind if I'm breaking protocol. I didn't see my question in the FAQ, or a topic related to mine in the Forum. Anyways. Running Warcaft 3 or Wizardry 8 will load - but the screen goes black. I can Alt+Tab out, and do anything else; but there is no response from the game. These games worked fine a while back when I first ran them - but after following the instructions to get Civilization 4 to run, I have been unable to play these two games. The o...

I am not as "current" on git wizardry as I am on mercurial, but at I least verified that branched development and rebasing to tip, r-w- works on the mercurial-svn bridge (i.e. you can commit directly to svn via hg and gain all of the benefits of using a dvcs) -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... using contents of one column to direct addition of new rows in dataframe
...e-variant variable, Date, so that it advances along one day for each new row. Here's an example of what the starting record would be like, and what I'd like to end up with: > foo.df <- data.frame(ID="N1", Date=2, Time=3) > foo.df ID Date Time 1 N1 2 3 # insert R wizardry here to get new.foo.df >new.foo.df ID Date Time N1 2 1 N1 3 1 N1 4 1 I know, or at least suspect, that there is a fairly straightforward way of doing so with building some ugly loop. But even after considering versions of "apply" and related commands, I just can't figure it out....

Data frame reordering to time series
...ime and aligned so that averages for all series can be computed per month. Now I have looping code to do this, where I loop through all the IDs and map the row of data into the correct column. and create column names based on the data and row names based on the ID, but it's painfully slow. Any wizardry would help. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

TLS support in NUT
...ing the TLS support is either abandoning security, or having to maintain it inside NUT, with more frequent releases needed to keep up with the rapid evolution of encryption. how to make ZenTest autotest run whenever my tests change
Railsters: Despite Rails being the only Web platform designed for TDD, a lot of its test infrastructure is still "cargo cult" - imitating other test rigs instead of understanding their principles. Most importantly, tests should run instantly. There''s no excuse for breaking this rule, and if you invent a platform that can''t obey it then you are doing something

Domain Member Server: Domain Users cannot access shares
...truggling to understand what is causing it. At this point I feel like I've got two options, either pull all the data off of them, zero them out and configure them as a new array within the controller itself, and then test it all again... Or punt and try and get LSI on the phone to explain this wizardry. I'm baffled... But at least you've confirmed my config is correct. UPS Shutdown
.... Really. But at this point, the shutdown delay, as executed by a real, live, existing UPS, seems to be an unattainable fantasy to this mere, simple user. Something as critical as the shutdown delay should be so supremely documented that it is child's play. But it is not. It currently is wizardry, if it exists at all.

[Bug 123] New: ssh linked with libpam
...rams, including ssh and other client progs, are linked with libpam. This is pointless because only sshd needs PAM, and it can become a real (albeit minor) problem if libpam is linked dynamically because the resulting binaries will not work without libpam.so.N even if they do not use it. My autoconf wizardry level is not high enough to provide a real patch but I suppose one should add a special AC_SUBST for libpam, change the action of AC_CHECK_LIB(pam, pam_set_item, , ...) to modify this special variable (rather than LIBS) and add this subst to sshd's rule in Makefile.in. ------- You are receiv...
