NLME Fitted Values
Dear List:
I am having difficulties with the fitted values at different levels of a multilevel model. My data set is a series of student test scores over time with a total of 7,280 observations, 1,720 students nested witin 60 schools. The data set is not balanced.
The model was fit using
eg.model.1<-lme(math~year, random=~year|schoolid/childid, data=single).
When I call the random effects at all levels using
EB.1<-data.frame(ranef(eg.model1, level=1)) and EB.2<-data.frame(ranef(eg.model1, level=2)),...

augPred plot in nlme library
All,
I'm trying to create an augPred plot in the nlme library, similar to the
plot on
p.43 of Pinheiro & Bates (Mixed Effects Models in S and S-Plus) for
their Pixel data.
My data structure is the same as the example but I still get the error
msg below.
> comp.adj.UKV <- groupedData(adj.UKV ~ Time | Patient_no/Lisinopril,
data = comp.adj.UKV.frm, order.groups = F)

introducing jitter in overlapping graphs using ggplots (plotmeans). Also sciplot.
...ns (bwplot, boxplot).
I have tried a few different packages and it seems that ggplots with
plotmeans was the fastest (I am not extremely skilled in writing my own
scripts). Unfortunately, there is no grouping argument in plotmeans().
Therefore, I have overlaid three plots (plotting all stations witin year).
However, as the graphs are exctly overlaid, it is not possible to
distinguish the confidence intervals. How do I introduce jitter?
Data2007, Data2008 and Data2009 are the dataframes with the data from that
particular year including all the stations.
I have also tried lineplot.CI from the...

-R port:host:hostport - communication lost after some minutes
Hi
As this '-R' command initially works fine I guess it must be a bug.
I have to login at a computer which is hidden behind NAT. The user
(joe) at the computer then connect to my server with the command:
ssh -R 1234:localhost:22 test.com
Then I login to test.com and connect back to joes computer:
ssh -p 1234 localhost
I get successfull connection every time but after a few

Help! I have a question about configuration of icecast and oddcast
Hey,
I want to broadcast my music with the p2p program, but I in the processing
to configuring my utilities such oddcast. I am behind a router and when I
try to connect
Oddcast I keep getting the message “unable to connect to socket”. What the
heck does that mean? I think it has to do something with UDP and TCP, but I
don’t know which one to choose when I’m port forwarding it from my router.

Shares requiring "Everyone" access...
I believe I have found either a bug or something I do not understand. I
recently had a file-share issue and the resolution was to set the
"others" permissions to 5, read and execute. The problem with this is
that once I am in Windows on a workstation, this appears to allow
"Everyone", "CREATOR OWNER", and "CREATOR GROUP" access. We normally
setup our
